  3. Hi All, DC alumni chapter president here! For anyone coming up for the Navy game in October, the chapter is planning to charter a bus or two from northern VA to Annapolis. Navy doesn’t sell bus parking without game tickets being purchased, so our bus package would include game tickets. The seats would be in the visitor section and near (if not the same section) as tickets through USF. Bus + game tickets would be about $65-70, with the price going down if we get more people. The Alumni Association is also having a tailgate that people can add on for an extra $35. Water, soda, and Jell-O shots will be provided by the chapter for those taking the bus. For anyone interested, please fill out our form (https://www.usfalumni.org/s/861/02-alumni/index.aspx?sid=861&gid=1&pgid=5080&cid=14899) and once we’ve gotten at least 40 interested, we’ll officially set up the bus. The bus would leave around 11 am from a metro stop in VA (we’re looking at also adding a stop at Union station in DC depending on cost), ride to Annapolis is about 45 minutes. If you aren’t interested in the bus, tickets will be for sale through USF in August for the game. Let me know if you all have any questions, hope you can make it up. October is perfect weather here, and Annapolis is beautiful. Genevieve

  5. After what seems like an eternity of summer which, btw, is the season I hate the most, although I've been kept entertained with boxing this summer (anyone see the Ruiz fight? I did!), the USF season starts again tomorrow with the Womens Soccer team going again the Lady Auburn Tigers. A real game, not exhibition. Volleyball kicks off up in Muncie Ind @ the Ball St Tourney, Mens Soccer heads up to Maryland to open the season against the Terrapins both on the 30th while some other game involving a lot of excited people and hopefully some bad whiskey will take place on the same day down at RayJay. Its gonna be a great year! GO BULLS!!!
  6. Share your list of what teams left on our schedule you think our the biggest test for USF. Here is mine: 1. UCF - gotta beat them 2. Houston 3. Temple 4. Cinci 5. Tulane 6. UConn Temple and cinci are a toss up-- the records are not important to me-- just how the teams match up against USF. just my opinion-- shares yours and try not to tell someone they are wrong-- it is an opinion after all.
  7. Round one of Bulls Q and A, starting with the legend of the USF airwaves, Jim Louk. From GoUSFBulls.com: Since 1983, Jim Louk has been the voice of USF Athletics. Louk came to USF that year as the radio play-by-play announcer for the USF men's basketball team and served as the lead voice until the conclusion of the 1996-97 season. He then made the transition to football in USF's inaugural 1997 campaign, and still serves as the team's play-by-play announcer today. You've seen a number of his written features over the years as well. Questions for Jim can range from this season to waaaaaaay back in the beginning of Bulls Football. Jim's Q&A from last season Please get your questions in as fast as you can. Feel free to post them here or email using this email link. My goal is to turn the questions in to Jim be end of day Wednesday, August 15th. Thanks, Brad

  9. I don't care to get into a debate on why fans are apathetic in a general sense, but why on earth are actual attendance numbers down from the Towson and NIU games? Are fans butt hurt that we lost to FSU?
  10. Which will have the best record in 2014-2015?
  11. Jeff Odomâ€@ByJeffOdom Here's your answer. RT @LewisAdvocate: AAC will announce FB divisions on Friday - Tulane in west with SMU, Houston, Tulsa, Memphis and Navy. Would mean that UCF, USF, Cincy, E. Carolina, Temple, UCONN in the East..
  12. After seeing what went on this season for USF to get an at large invite we would need to go 25 and 7 or 26 and 6. Our conference doesn't have the respect for anything worse from us.
  13. My thoughts on the FAU game.... Thought I'd share. http://wp.me/p2Gfwz-16j
  14. I had the opportunity to attend the Mike Aresco/ESPN conference call on the new deal. I jotted down some unofficial notes I thought I'd share.. Aresco was very excited about the deal with ESPN. He said the agreement shows confidence ESPN has in conference. Together the plan is to be very innovative. A wide ranging agreement - content can appear nationally and on various ESPN platforms. On the new name of the conference - nothing new. Name to be disclosed in Spring. Aresco went on to say possibly April, early May. They are currently working with branding groups. There will be games scheduled on Thursdays and Fridays. They will be sensitive to H.S. football There was a question about the existing schools infighting over exit fees. Aresco said there had been none at all. It's a very cordial, straightforward and collegial group. Will the conference consider selling naming rights? Aresco vehemently said No. Not even thinking about it. On the 12th member - "We are looking at expansion" Intention is to get to 12. Expectation is to have championship game in 2015. Possibly in 2014, but unlikely. When ESPN was asked of what nights for television (basketball) the response was most nights of the week, but it was too early to tell. Where will conference basketball championship be played? Aresco says they're looking at a group of cities - the preference is to hold it in a city with a conference presence. They may rotate among site, not sure. Aresco like the Pac12 model - on campus sites. Aresco said top 3 priorities right now are 1) the name/rebranding 2) Venues 3) revenue ESPN can license out games to sub-licensees. ESPN said "excited about upside, can help in 'comprehensive exposure'." It was asked if Tulane could make it next season, Aresco commented they had other obligations. Further talk on a 2014 conference football championship if Navy joined earlier, but it has not been discussed. Pinstripe Bowl - still working on, hope they stay with new league. Who makes the call on what teams get on ESPN? The network and conference work together to determine best games for TV. What input does ESPN have in naming process? Aresco says the league will decide but may ask ESPN for opinion. "ESPN has never asked about a name." Is there a scheduling agreement (basketball) with the C7 schools? Aresco says "No agreement, but you'll see us play down the road."
