  1. USF WBB is emerging as a consistent tournament team. We've been good for the 1st or 2nd round of the tournament, if not a few rounds into the NIT. Makes sense to get some votes like this.
  2. Probably includes FCS or DII schools. Even so, I don't know how our SOS is 129. NIU and whoever we started with are definitely debby downers, but I'd think Syracuse doing OK and FSU would bring us up higher than that.
  3. 3 losses to top 25 teams, 2 of which to the #3 and #5 team. I mean those are quality losses.
  4. In the context of the team and where it is, winning a conference championship is absolutely a big deal. Have to consider context. Some of you are too caught up in the national picture, where we are not at currently. In a national scope, being the AAC champion doesn't really matter. Especially in comparison to teams like Ohio State, where their loss last weekend may take them out of the conversation for a national championship. Its about winning the battle on the stage you're on. Houston had an invitation to the main stage because they were an AAC champ and beat up a main stage contender in FSU and then a main stage contender in Oklahoma. Then they fudged up by getting upset not once, but twice. Gotta be the big fish in the small pond before you can swim with the other big fish in the bigger pond..
  5. Should be another beautiful day in Tampa. Hoping people show up for Navy. (well, us too of course)
  6. If you're looking for food on campus, there's always Tarek's Cafe. Made to order food. Used to be only open up until like 2pm, but looks like they're now open until 9pm on some week days. Used to be pretty legit. Of course, last time I ate there was 3-5 years ago. Still worth a look. edit: Forgot to mention its at the College of Public Health. There's a walkway around the left of the entrance to the main building, and that takes you to an alcove at the higher education building. nice and hidden.
  7. Do coaches drag assistants through the mud like that, though? I'd understand getting hired to a new position and bringing friends along, but getting fired? I don't know if I'd want to join him in getting fired again lol. Taggart has gone 14-7 between this season and next. If you shave off the losing streak last year, He's gone 13-4 (13-3 in the regular season) since the Syracuse turn around. A 76.4% (81.25) winning percentage. Essentially averaging 9-3 - 10-2 in a regular season. I'd take that every year. That means we're competitive in almost all games, the conference, and OOC games too. Plus a bowl win, that's an opportunity to go 9-4 to 11-2 every year. That's not too shabby.
  8. Meanwhile LSU over here.. Fournette making up for lost time for real. At one point had 7 carries for 239 yards and 3 TDs.
  9. Which is ultimately a good thing, I think. It shows all of the teams are getting better. I think. We want a champion in the conference to rival P5 programs and make us look good as a whole, but now we're starting to cannibalize each other. Which I mean, is exactly what is starting to happen with other conferences too. If we have our way, we'll be beating Navy Friday to take them out of the rankings themselves.
  10. If this was on his "personal" page I'd be okay with it. Being upset is fine but there's a certain way to say it. I mean if the team doesn't like it they need to prove him wrong. But Grothe should look at his offense. I'd take our current offense over the old one. The defense was lights out back then though. No comparison really.
  11. Well, we could be Arkansas fans. 550 rushing yards allowed to Auburn.
  12. Though it always smelled like butt near that "nature trail" y'all have.
  13. That being at FIU, where Cristibol couldn't keep the cupboard stocked. Taggart generally has the team well stocked at every position.
  14. That would be a phenomenal hire. Almost a lateral move for us. Strong is out of his element in Texas, and (if he were to leave at the end of the season) Taggart has laid a very solid foundation for the team in terms of players and mentality. The "next" coaching staff would be gifted the ability to win immediately with no rebuilding.
  15. The cameras are on the home side, so it doesn't really provide an accurate idea of the stadium capacity. I suppose one would see the visitor side and assume that the other side is equal in attendance. The reality is the other side could be 80-90% full compared to only 20-40% on that visitor's side. Plus I heard the student section was mostly full. The reason it didn't full up in unison was probably due to the ability to drive to the game for free. If the students show up, it makes a big difference.
  16. Considering how they scored, 0 points over the 2nd half, I'll take it
  17. While I miss them too, if you miss Booger for his college football talk your memory has failed you. Granted the team was hot garbage, but any time USF talk was to be had, every five words he mentioned the SEC, LSU, or the SEC. When he wasn't straight trash talking the program or bending over for the SEC, he was berating Rich for his love of Scores Gentleman's Club. I would hope that they'd have a lot more or a lot better things to say about USF now that the team has turned itself around, but I think Booger would still find his ways to bring the conversation back to they just aren't as good or can't compete with the SEC or UF and other SEC talent Edit: I really miss Draft Day tuesday. I listened to that every Tuesday morning while working. Absolutely hilarious stuff. And the morning show always had something to say about USF even if it wasn't all that great. They still put out news and information.
  18. We're going to get Navy in the house ranked. Unless them being inactive somehow gets them kicked out of the rankings. We ourselves may be getting more looks when that time comes too. I feel like people pay more attention when your school is "ranked" or playing a "ranked" team.
  19. To be fair, a "whiteout" would probably still have a sea of red in parts of the stadium..
  20. I'm in agreement here. You stack the box and force them to throw a little bit, which they're only comfortable doing in small unsuspected doses. Put Cherry in as one of the LBs that line up and have Auggie spy.
  21. if the University wanted to honor him at a game and reached out to him requesting he show up to be honored on the field, I bet he'd do it, if CU would allow it. Try to get some of his guys, like Grothe and Selvie and even JPP to show up... make it a big ta do
  22. I just don't think the pink and green go well together. If were gonna do pink they might as well go completely conceptual and do like black and pink USF jerseys or something.
