  1. I think Taggart wasn't very happy with how the team ended the game. I'd expect him to push them next week against another winnable game. -------- Looking at the rankings from a W/L perspective, You have to think UNC, Stanford, Colorado get bumped. Arkansas maybe, but I bet they get dropped to 23-24 since they lost to Bama. Miami will drop and so will Houston and Tenn, but all that will do is rearrange the standings. Otherwise, I bet Western Michigan gets in, maybe ASU. LSU isn't playing this week. UGA plays today, if they win I bet they get put in as well. Ahead of us currently in the AP polls, Auburn won, OK State won. SDSU won. TCU barely won, I think that hurts them. Maryland, Air Force, and MSU lost. With the teams in front of us losing, I'd say we'll get more votes just by them losing, which would put us top 30. AP votes I mean.
  2. Mistakes are mistakes (and can be corrected), but they are arguably the reason the score wasn't much higher. You'd like to think at least 3 points would have came from Mack's run to the 7 before he fumbled it next play. We had several drives begin and go well until penalties backed us up. Like USFBulls12 said, we could have put 50+ on the board if we got out of our own way. We've beaten the bad teams like we should have. While we probably should have beaten ECU by more than 16 points, the defense let their backup QB get hot and it turned the game around for ECU. Even then, they tightened up when needed and the offense turned the defense's stops into big points at the end to clinch the victory. Its not the win we might have wanted, but they still handled business accordingly. Next step is to take UConn to the woodshed.
  3. What I meant to say is I think he would have been better. I don't think the coaching staff used him/groomed him properly. I think the large majority of what he did while at USF was primarily on athletic ability. I mean you're right, and one could look at the UF game and see a kid who was athletically gifted but forced to try too hard. I think if BJ was surrounded by better talent (like having a legit group of receivers like we have now and 3 RBs who could all start for FBS teams) he wouldn't have been forced to make a lot of the bad decisions he made.
  4. I wonder what BJ would have been like in this situation. Not that I disagree with you. But I think BJ would have been just that much better.
  5. White was Taggart's first offer, and then first commit. I think White just was in a bad situation without time to prepare himself. He needed a redshirt year to learn the offense and become mentally tough and confident to handle himself on the field. I think he got burned out here.
  6. Eventually could get to the point, in theory, where no AAC members were also Big East members. That is, USF, UConn, Cincy, etc could leave for other conferences.
  7. It really hasn't changed in discussion much, still about clowns
  8. Imagine how much chaos would ensue if a P5 school publicly announces its intentions to to relegate itself to a G5 conference. I know its insanity but oh man. And the pundits love love love to use history as an influential component to ranking a team. an undefeated Nebraska would probably be ranked on name before it would be ranked for record. And I bet going 10-0 in say the MAC would be enough to get them somewhere..
  9. It hasn't touched down yet, I wouldn't count those chickens just yet
  10. Skip's QB is 14/19 for 298 and 4TDs though.
  11. Big game for one Mr. Mike White, too. currently 20-29 for 144 yards and 2 TDs against the evil Skippy Hotlz.
  12. Ah crud I think I added the rushes twice. edit: Sanjay, at one point I included some numbers from the NCAA's website.. Thankfully I realized those were for last season lol. Too bad I missed that one. I thought 130 plays was a lot. Even so, they put up comparable numbers on UCF as Cincy did to us... and I'd argue Cincy's team is better.
  13. I dunno what you saw, they went 32 carries for 33 rushing yards.. Combined their QBs were 38/70 (so just a smidge over 50%) at 7 YPA. So they had 132 plays, 521 yards, or roughly 3.95 YPP. Conversely, USF against Cincy had 81 total plays for 454 total yards, at 5.6 YPP. Cincy against us last game, scoring those 20 points, even averaged 5.17 YPP.
  14. Pretty nifty website, lots of knowledge and history to be read. Thanks!
  15. We score fast enough that I would have liked to see them try and get a quick bomb or something to end the half.
  16. Was just looking at the stat lines too, that particular running back had 11 carries for 31 yards with a long of 31. So he ran for effectively 0 yards on the other 10
  17. I mean an INT TD, a punt return TD, 3 total INT's, its hard to lose a game when you've got that all going for you. Holman was 11/29 for 156 stinkin' yards. That's absolute garbage. Perhaps just as worse though would be ECU's 32 carries for 48 yards... with a long of 31. So ECU had 31 carries for 17 yards otherwise.
  18. Some of the places mentioned (such as the Cider & Mead-- cool place to hangout, wasn't very busy when I was there last Saturday) are in the Ybor City area. Its historic and has some great places to visit, but do be wise about being out there late. People go out to have a good time, but I can tell you from a... different perspective, that there are uglies that gravitate to the darker areas. And the later it gets the more that comes out. So, don't stay or plan to be in the ybor area longer than say 1 am. Have a good trip!
  19. I'll be able to watch the game before work at least x.x I think the last homecoming this early was 2010 Syracuse. I just remember it was bright and hot as all heck
  20. My only comment is that Cincy has struggled with Miami (OH) and UT-M this year. They beat Purdue pretty good, but that's Purdue. I feel like getting trounced by Louisville is a little different. But I don't blame you for tempering your thoughts.
  21. I like USF to come out scoring quickly. If we can jump on 'em early, we can break their will and probably get them to lay down and take it.
  22. Is the Hatter a defensive guy? I don't feel right throwing Woodie to the curb like that, but we could bring him on as "an advisor" right?
