  1. Brett Sean....that’s embarrassing for the entire conference.
  2. I have no idea if he’s telling the truth or not, but keep in mind this isn’t a rookie staff. It’s clear that CCS wants this competition to go down to the wire. While I eagerly await the day that we know who will be playing QB in ‘18, there are a couple legitimate reasons to do this — 1. So he can look BK & CO in the eyes and say you were given every opportunity possible to win this job. 2. So he can tell B.B. the same thing CCS knows this is a tough call. He has 2 guys who have been waiting for the GOAT to graduate and another who he convinced to come to USF in essentially his last opportunity to make something of himself. Heres another thing. Everyone is focused on who is going to be the #1. CCS also has to figure out who is going to be 2/3. With these guys all having similar eligibility, the #3 guy is likely gone. At this point, you can’t just say “X” is our starter and the other two will battle it out for the back up job. Just my 2 cents
  3. My only concern with BB is his limited time in the system. Take note of how many times you hear “2nd year in the system” followed by some form of “we are able to play faster now”. B.B. has had what, 2 months to learn the playbook? *insert HB dive joke* Its obvious that he’s uber talented, but one has to wonder if there are some things that Gilbert might have to dial back if B.B. is indeed the starter early in the season.
  4. Any recommendations on a portable generator for powering TV/Cable Box? Don’t need anything crazy for lights or cooking. Really would just like to be able to watch college gameday and some of the games prior
  5. To be fair, we don’t even know who is playing QB yet....
  6. If anyone wants to see more film on B.B., checkout the 2016 Alabama Spring Game on YouTube. Quite a few reps on there with the TV angle
  7. Antoine did play CB in HS so there’s that. I think this speaks volumes about Jernard Phillips and Roland rather than the regression of Antoine. Antoine was a better fit for CWT offense in the slot. I think Gilbert is looking for a more reliable, polished WR in the slot
  8. I can’t tell anyone how to live their life or how they should feel about a team or program. What I can say is I’m as excited for this season as I was as a Freshman. College football is a release and this program, no matter what conference, is ours. This time of the year, everyone is asking “who is your team?”, and there are plenty of UF, FSU, etc to go around. When I say USF I get “that look”. I think a majority of you living in SEC country know the look I’m referring to. The thing is, when FSU wins, these people get to call themselves fans. When they lose, they don’t care about college football suddenly. If you identify yourself as a USF fan, take pride in that. Whether it’s more or less than you did 5-10 years ago. Take pride in it. Because when we have success, we don’t have to share it with every brother, sister, father & mother who knows someone that knows someone who lives 15 miles from Tallahassee. We all we got, we all we need. Go bulls. See you all Sept 1
  9. If we can get anything out of the Duke transfers the D will be better this year. I love Auggie and will miss the chants this year, but he was simply a sound football player. Let’s not act like we lost a 1st round draft pick. Upfront there is plenty of depth to rotate guys in without missing a beat. McGee & Sawtelle give us a lot of range at the next level. KJ got a lot of experience last year and I believe Farrar was moved to LB to provide some depth. The secondary shouldn’t miss a beat with Hampton, Mazzi and Hoggins & Jayson and Naytron playing deep. There’s questions about depth at the CB but I like the young kids Sanders & Roberts to come in if needed. 2nd year in the system and plenty of talent on the field. There’s zero reason to believe this defense shouldn’t be as good, if not better than last year. Let’s just hope we can stay relatively healthy
  10. Completely agree with everyone mentioned above. Antoine, Hampton & Jaymon are in for big seasons. My hope for the season is we look back and say “Man, QB X is really good and Coach Strongs defenses are for real”
  11. Almost any offensive scheme would “work” with QF behind center at this level. I think the frustration was that many felt the offense was not maximized in such an important season.
  12. This team loses in the dumbest ways. Pick off error last year and then this.
  13. I completely agree. I was hoping he would make an impact last season. I’ve always been intrigued with him, even over Sands based on HS tape.
  14. I like the idea of Barr moving to CB. Strong and Co. should be able to teach him to adjust nicely. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him make an impact there relatively quickly
  15. If you’re referring to his one pass under pressure against Temple, it was confirmed that the WR ran the wrong route on that play causing the TO. Since we are going off the extremely mensicule sample size, check out that throw he made on the run against South Carolina in the bowl game on the 2pt conversion. Thread the needle, showed athleticism and arm talent. We are going to be fine next year at QB. Fine doesn’t mean whoever starts will be the best player on the field no matter the opponent as was the case this year, but both guys are plenty capable of winning a lot of games.
  16. If I had to guess, I think passing efficiency goes up next year as do turnovers and we lose some big plays. As long as we aren’t turning it over at an alarming rate, this should still be an AAC title contending roster
  17. He reconsidered and is remaining with the team.
  18. Craig Watts no longer transferring. That’s great news
  19. I honestly think we will see both Kean and Chris O at some point next year. To me, Kean has a similar skill set to Buchelle. Athletic for the position, accurate but not the strongest arm. Chris O has the potential to be a star. We just need to see him throw with accuracy on a consistent basis. I will say this, that's QB room has a ton of talent. One of those guys will be able to get the job done. Whether it's the guy who starts the opener or gets a shot later in the year. Someone in that room will give us above avg production at the position.
  20. I agree with this premise as long as we aren't using those as hard #s. If TCU was in the MWC with the exact same roster, OU would be ranked lower. UCF didn't deserve to be in the final 4 this season, but they did deserve more recognition and hype throughout the year.
  21. I hate UCF as much as the next guy, but I respect their hustle.
  22. You're right, I meant Mayes. McGee will absolutely get time in sub packages, but I don't see Sawtelle being beaten out in our base 3-3-5 set. McGee should go back to safety for base and slide into the box in dime with Naytron at safety
