  1. What is sad is that at this point, if we go 5-7, it means the team is improving. Assuming we lose to FSU, to go 5-7 we'd have to increase our big east wins by 100-200% over last year. That would be a big improvement.
  2. The defense isn't motivated. They aren't even trying. ZERO tackles for loss against Ball State and ONE qb hurry?
  3. I don't think they'll have any emotion because the coaching staff has none.
  4. That contract extension was a terrible terrible decision. Win 1 conference game, get extension.
  5. Looks like the players have given up. For whatever reason, the defense doesn't feel like performing. Maybe the players aren't happy with the staff either.
  6. Now we know how opposing fans felt the past 5 years when we were the underdog.
  7. I feel the same way. I think this is the biggest issue. One of motivation, drive, vision and determination. This coaching staff and this team just doesn't have it.
  8. If "big donors" got rid of Leavitt can we be hopeful they will get rid of Holtz too? I can't imagine that they've been impressed with his performance.
  9. +1 Not firing Holtz will cost USF a lot more than firing him will. Once we lose to UCF, and UCF is ahead in the conference standings, we will be losing recruits to them as well. In conference discussions, the S in USF will be replaced with a C. If our program loses our momentum now, we may never get it back. Our momentum is how we are able to sell our program to recruits, but if we have a decade of no progress, well it's not very convincing anymore that we're on our way up.
  10. I would take Leavitt back. He might love USF enough to over look that we fired him? Maybe he loves USF to pay for Skip's buyout? Pipe dream, but Leavitt at least showed emotion. Skip is just weak, other coaches know it, and they just walk all over him. Like it was said above, I think Leavitt would be owning. I think we'd have had a winning season last year with Leavitt, and that we'd be 4-0 right now if Leavitt was coaching this team. Without a doubt our defense would not be in it's current sorry state if Leavitt was coaching this team.
  11. To me it looks like BJ is giving it everything he has. At least you know he isn't giving up, even though he may be a little inconsistent, he still always tries to find a way to win. Now some of the other guys I see walking around on the field, I'm not so sure they give a ****.
  12. Its not all defense... having an inconsistent QB, no depth at RB, and one good wr is also a major issue. Umm yes it is. Inconsitent QB yes but he puts up points. Depth at RB...ummm no. One good wr...are you ******* serious? This defense to be one of the worst if not the worst in d1 football. One good wr...are you ******* serious? This defense to be one of the worst if not the worst in d1 football. We did not lose to Miami last year because of defense... we also did not lose most of our games last season because of defense... we lost most of those games by 1 point, or a few points... we lost those games thanks to bad offense, not defense. We also lost to Rutgers last week due to bad offense... our defense kept Rutgers within range. If either the defense OR the offense was just a little bit better, this team would be 4-0. We're 2-2 but could just as easily be 1-3. All we have seen since the beginning of last season from Holtz is that both sides of the ball are performing just below where they need to be to win games, and far below their potential. My observations lead me to believe that Holtz hasn't set a high standard or expectations and hasn't been demanding it from the players. Leavitt you at least knew by his expressions when the team did not meet his expectations. The problems with Holtz is that it appears every outcome is okay with him.
  13. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone will be doing any fireing.
  14. You obviously dont know **** about football. And the BE games only matter? You mean the shittiest of all conferences that we got killed in last year? This is gonna kill recruiting for a long time. when we are 2-10 for the next 5 years we'll never recover. UCF will surpass us. I hope there is a special exception that allows removes or reduces the buyout for a loss to UCF. We will lose to all of the new conference members as well. Houston, SMU, Boise, Air Force, Memphis, Temple are all going to smoke us.
  15. These degrees are almost identical with mechanical having a little bit more flexibility and aerospace having more emphasis on fluids and controls. Mech Es are hired all the time for aerospace projects and aerospace hired the do the same jobs as mechanical engineers quite often. In my graduate program in mechanical engineering a few friends are taking some classes from the aerospace department, my friend in aerospace is in my mechanical department class with me this semester. An aerospace friend of mine was offered jobs in the oil and gas industry, and a different friend who majored in mechanical got a job at space X. both can be versatile degrees and electives allow you to narrow or broaden your focus. I would recommend mechanical however, it's a little more versatile.
  16. I was searching through MITs open courseware a few days ago. The ENTIRE mechanical engineering curriculum is free oline, well, all of the lectures anyway. Was thinking of brushing up on some differential equations, too bad I don't really have the time. Ya MIT has their lectures free. They have basically all classes offered by many of their departments it looked like.
  17. Maybe big 12 will take us when TU and OU move to the PAC 12. But then the idea kind of loses it's luster.
  18. 5 turnovers.... what do you expect the defense to do when the offense keeps giving the opponent the ball. I think the defense played well enough against Rutgers... turnovers is what really killed us.
