  1. Thanks but I will stick with my beer bandolier... using this flask, especially if you get **** faced might land you on to Catch a Predator faster then you can utter Chris Hanson.

  3. That would be another dumb-ass move by the Big East, to have its marquee game in a western market... likewise it would be stupid to have it in the far east as well. Personally I think the Liberty Bowl would be a good fit given that it used to be a major bowl game back in the day, and if NBC kicks in some $$ then we could get a higher SEC opponent to show up, and the Liberty Bowl Committee (i.e. Memphis University) could do some much needed upgrades to the stadium to make it better and more modern. The only teams that would get hosed by this setup would be Rutgers, San Diego State, and Boise State... all of the other schools are not that far away.
  4. How is this a punishment for UCF? They rarely make bowls and the NCAA Tourney as it is... it would be like banning Vanderbilt from winning the SEC title, or playing in the national championship game...
  5. penn state has the 2nd largest stadium in the country for a reason. I'm willing to bet penn state is in the top 10 for average attendance next year. i bet your cousin regrets his decision when he's not able to get them again in the future. and you are insane if you think this will have any effect on temple and pitt's enrollments. My cousin is not giving up his season tix's, he is keeping them but putting all of them on stubhub for the 5 years that Penn State is on probabtion and not capable of going to a bowl, or winning the Big 10. Likewise you are insane if you think that Chester the Molestor U is going to remain in the top 10 for attendance, and that Temple/Pitt are not going to see a surge in enrollments. I'm basing my pontification on what occured with SMU and Miami when they got the death penalty in regards to massive game day attendance drops (Miami), and massive drops in enrollments/major upticks at nearby colleges (SMU & Miami)... what are you basing your argument on besides apparent man love for PSU?
  6. Believe it or not mystique, history, and reputation does factor into recruiting. Also why would a top to mediocre recruit choose to play for a school that will not be able to go to a bowl game, much less win a conference title? Mark my words, both Pitt and Temple are going to make out like bandits. Right now I guarantee you that nearly all of the coaches and players are right now shopping themselves around to get out of PSU. At this pace PSU will have to stock its team with students like Miami and SMU did when they got handed the death penalty.
  7. We should see about scheduling a home & away with PSU... would be an easy win... only real issue would be getting locals to lock up their kids while PSU nation is in town.
  8. I doubt that they will be able to maintain 110K... also lets not forget that many, many regular non-athletic students will likley also be looking elsewhere for college. Why would you go to PSU now... the entire experience would be ruined. Sure the diehard Nittany Lions will still go, but the average fair weathers will opt for another State University, or private metro alternative where they can get the full college experience. Also my cousin lives in PA and he is a huge PSU fan... he has had season tickets for the past 8 years and told me just an hour ago that he is selling his season tickets this year and will use the $$ to get better season tix for the Steelers. If I was a betting man I would bet that Pitt and Temple both see a jump in their enrollments, and PSU game day attendance takes a major hit.
  9. This is like an early Christmas gift for Temple... PSU has been destroyed... Pitt is not only the best program in the State now, but is also the most storied school as well. Now that Pitt is #1 and PSU has been destroyed, Temple is the new #2 for now. The real question will be if Temple can capitalize on this change and really become the new #2.
  10. Another basketball turd would be the worst possible move... if the Big East is going to stay afloat then we need a football guy. Also why in the hell are we hiring a guy when most every other major conference just appoints a sitting AD or President to be their commish for "X" amount of years? The Big East keeps hiring basketball guys to run a conference that needs to grow its football side, and they wonder why they have issues. It would be like hiring a clown to fix your toliet.
  11. Sports Animal just reported that ALL of the Joe Paterno busts were scraped, as in broken up Saddam Huessein style, and then melted down for scrap. I'm telling y'all that this has destroyed PSU... they might as well close their program down.
  12. Violations for what... choking in the last 3 minutes of nearly every BEast game? If we are cheating and still can't win then we got some issues.
  13. I hope that the NCAA lays the hammer down on UM... you would have thought that after suffering through a "death penalty-light" period back in the 1990's that they would had got the message to not cheat. Regardless of what happens to Miami, I bet they are shizing in their drawers right now after what the NCAA just did to PSU...
  14. http://espn.go.com/c...ins-dating-1998 So does USF's win total get bumped by 1 game? No, Penn State vacates the wins. We don't get anything. If we wanted to press the matter, we could probably take off a loss, but is doesn't work that way. We played and we lost. I don't know... I believe that once a win is vacated then our loss is also removed and is replaced with "V" or something to show that PSU's win, and our loss was removed.
  15. http://www.chicagotr...0,6965116.story Wow this is in most ways worse then the death penalty SMU got because it essentially strips PSU of all its history, every victory from 1998 through 2001, all of Paterno's statues, busts, and streets named after him are being removed. Paterno is no longer the winninest coach. PSU can't play in a bowl game for 4 years, they lost 10 scholarships for the next 5 years, and will be under double secret probabtion for 5 years as well. The Death Penatly against SMU merely restored the program back to its mediocre standing, which is what they would've been had they not been paying players. This is much much worse because this demoralizes and guts Penn State of its mystique, history, and all of the crap that many colleges would kill to have. You take Paterno and the legacy he built out of Penn State and you have nothing but a hollow shell. I bet Pitt fans are celebrating in the streets because this one ruling has made Pitt the premiere college football program instantly over night. Hell even when PSU gets off its probabtion 5 years down the road, they will still be a gutted hollow shell and will effectively have to start over from scratch... by that time USF and hell even UCF we will have more tradition, history, and mystique then PSU will have. This is the nuclear option... makes the death penalty look like a cake walk.
  16. This is not meant to be confrontational, but do you mean that statement for you, the players, or the fan base.... Beating UCF will be important as it would pertain to the conference, but I just see this rivalry as joke... Only way we can maintain a semblance of being above them is to consistently beat them year in and year out as a conference member. This^^^^ Eventually they will beat us, but we need to ensure that its like the UF vs UGA series in which UF stomps UGA 9 out of 10 times... if UGA wins once every 10 years then it does little to nothing to give the UGA fans any edge to brag.
  17. This destroyed the Big East... had they added Penn State then we have been able to keep an edge against any raids.
  18. I heard on ESPN Radio that the SEC Commissh apparently stated to an aide that all of the schools and conferences that are not one of the elite top 5 conferences will be relegated down to the FCS where they belong. If true then you can bet that there will be a mad scramble as every Big East team makes a mad dash to whore themselves out to the so-called elite top 5 conferences. I fear that the only way we can come out of this on top is if FSU leaves the ACC for the B12, but I really don't see that happening now that the ACC is included in that top 5. 2 Cents - My main issue is not losing the bowl games, personally I feel that the bowl system is corrupt given how the bowl committes force the invited schools to buy 20,000 seats each. 9 times out of 10 these seats are not sold, and the schools have to eat the $$, especially if your team travels outside of your region. My main issue is having a number of schools shut-out by the old guard who fear giving up ground to new programs like USF or Boise State. While I love the bowl games and traveling to them, I can see where a playoff system that is similar to the NFL could be bennefical to college football more so then the current bowl system. Hopefully they don't make the mistake of copying the Basketball March Madness system where a bunch of schools play regional tournaments in neutral arenas. in any event we will know where we fall in a few months time.
  19. Was that recently "bricked over". I haven't noticed. Can't wait for them to get this all over campus... beats the hell out of the terra cotta paint...
  20. After reviewing my pictures it appears that is all they have in there now... they had some random non-UA gear such as football novelty helmets, novelty footballs, and some custom made USF gear that the books store commissioned, but over all its 90% UA gear.
  21. +1 A buddy of mine that works in facilities maintenance told me a while agao that the terra cotta colors are temporary because the Univeristy does not have enough funds to have fake brick facads put up around campus. He said that once the terra cotta paint fades and needs to be replaced that some of the terra cotta painted areas will be bricked over. At the intersection of Holy Drive and Palm Drive on campus they just bricked over a retaining wall that was going to be painted terra cotta. From what I understand the bricks used on this wall will eventually be used all over campus to cover up most of the terra cotta paint.
  22. some pretty disappointing stuff here... hardwood club incomplete because they ran out of money? weak. Student club looks pretty disappointing. overall the inside looks pretty awesome tho Yeah it was down stairs right across from the Student Lounge... they had the doors taped up... not even sure what they had in that room because it was dark. About the student club, its not bad and after they put the TV's in it and get the correct chairs then it will look better... Also Woolard stated that sections 126-128 would be the new student sections, and that they would extend from the floor, all the way up to the roof if need be. No need to go all the way out to Texas if you don't want to... Saint Leo has the same program about an hour north of Tampa.
