The difference is that other schools who are serious about hiring the best candidates don't use search firms. The AD and his staff make up a top 10 list and they go after those from the best national programs. You use a search firm for spots that you aren't serious about, or for spots that are hard to fill (i.e. head of brain surgery).

Finally someone with some flippin common sense... however given the fact that USF is only open to interviewing one head coach candidate, I don't see this thing coming out good. If USF was serious about building a real program then they would have a top 10 list, and interview all of them. The search firm should be used to weed out unacceptable candidates that don't meet the criteria set out by the USF AD... however I'm getting the feeling that USF is just allowing the search firm to play God and hand pick a candidate that they like... might not be the best choice, but by god the search firm likes them.

Why? don't we have a HR Dept on Campus? Its not rocket science as to what makes a good coach... search firms are pointless because all they do is pull from a small list of people that are within these small candidate pools, which candidates have to pay to be part of... Lets see the results of using a search firm... I also like how we only interviewed one person for the job. To me that doesn't sound like they are serious about finding a replacement, just a warm body to fill the void.

There is a HUGE difference between the Ivy League and real college sports. What we need to do is bring in a quality coach that has a proven track record at our level. We have the $$ to spend, so why not target a successful lower tier coach from one of the smaller colleges that have had success in the tourney?

This should be a orderly blood bath. I've filled out my WNIT bracket and have the Lady Bulls winning it all.

Wish it was the NCAA Tourny but hey, its still the post season and we should win this thing.

We are not going to break free from this crap conference until we establish a history of winning in football... or at least get back to where we were under Leavitt, if not a bit better. On the flip side the conference isn't going to get any respect until its member teams does something. If we keep winning our bowl games, and doing well in the NIT then more AAC teams will get into the big dance.

I'd like to see the Gayturds where these again... but something tells me that they won't given that they have removed this helmet from their on-campus football helmet display.

seriously that sounds horrible and a huge overreaction by Bulls fans that are setting this up. UCF has plenty of space to accommodate Bulls fans where you can avoid trouble. The best part of road games is actually hanging out at the road team's campus , the game is not in Pakistan Wait, there's a difference? Not really... Our AD had his car vandalized, and I've heard from 6 Bulls I know that had their vehicles trashed just as bad. UCF needs to discover this thing called class... there is a big difference between a college rivalry and petty vandalism. The UCF fans are so bad that I can honestly see this game being played at a neutral site somewhere outside of Orlando and Tampa. Not sure where that would be honestly, but you can bet its coming down the pipes after the vandalism that occurred this year. This is why UGA and UF play at a neutral site... the Gator fans kept vandalizing the UGA fans vehicles and vise-versa.

I stopped reading right there. How clueless can you be? So what your saying is that Syracuse was not part of the Big East, and Louisville was not part of the Big East and is not part of the AAC this season?
