I think all of this Holtz stuff should be moved to another thread. BJ deserves a positive thread on this board after the way we treated him in his last three years. Oh, and to add to the Holtz discussion I think that whole **** family is in bed with ESPN and he was a plant here to ruin this football program. Sounds extreme, but I have no doubt that some of us blowhards on this board could have had similar or better results. No excuse that guy had to be trying to suck like he did. Now, go BJ and if you get your chance in the season, play like you did this preseason and you will be taking snaps somewhere next season!

Wasn't Floyd getting ALL the reps once BJ and Bobby went down? How many more would it take to learn how to complete the most basic task you can ask of a QB? It's like saying a guy has all the tools to be a great catcher...he can hit, he can throw, he calls a good game, just has a little trouble catching pitches. I like the analogy, but I would change it a little. See what you said made it sound like Floyd can't throw the ball because that's a QB's primary task like catching for a catcher. I think a slightly better analogy is a catcher that can do all of those things but can't squat. I think a QB that can't take a snap is like a catcher that can't squat. Both may be great at everything else, even their actual job, but it doesn't really matter. I hope Floyd has any past problems worked out. Hopefully having a couple past QB's as coaches have helped him with the basics.

I don't care who takes snaps. This will be the first year in our history that we have a head coach that specializes in offense. Our best offenses have relied on a single star to carry the load since the beginning. Marquel, Andre, Matt, BJ, and now we have an offense that might just make a couple guys look like stars. I'm getty like a school girl because for the first time in recent memory I think it may actually be difficult to guess what our next play will be. Seriously how many times did you say to yourself receiver screen, draw, hail mary / long route and they ran it everytime. We were so predictable out of every set and now we are going to motion, audible, and read a defense on a regular basis. I just can't f-ing wait!

That is not the proper hopeless, the sky is falling, nuclear meltdown attitude that is welcomed on these boards. Soon you will be ridiculed for using sanity and reason. Believe me, I know. Our team has bricks for hands. He gets double teamed and half the team grows roots! Come to the ball, help a brother out, hell just catch the ball when he throws it to you. Oh and make a f-ing shot if he gets you an open look.

But please, please stop with all of this breaking news about how terrible we are. It really, REALLY hurts our feeling and makes us mad.

It seems to me that many here are WAY too quick to talk like the sky is falling. 1. Questioning the ability of the Big East coach of the year as voted by his peers. I don't need to list his peers, they know good coaching better than ANYONE here. 2. Setting your expectations based on the coaches preseason pep talk is a bad idea. Heath knew we couldn't pound the boards and defend as well, so he wanted to run the ball more. Season started and it was obvious we lost Ron Anderson. His 8 boards a game would have been in addition to the boards we are already getting because he got the balls no one on our team could. He had fundamental rebounding skills, knew how to gain position on defense under the basket and most of all he gave us senior leadership. 3. I do agree with one thing, and that is that Fitz is seriously strugling right now. If that guy isn't hitting the three ball at 50%+ he is a liability. He doesn't attack the rim, can't really jump, cant move his feet, and my four year old has better hands. I love the guy and pull for him, and I thought he turned a corner earlier this year, but good competition has uncovered his faults.

No one is saying that we want lower academic standards. But what they did was disgraceful to Austin and Heath. And no one is saying Austin was the savior for this team, but his presence would radically change the make up of this team. His absence has created a domino effect that had rippled to every other position on the team. -------------------------------- I know. It was horrible. Also, know he would have helped tremendously throughout the season, I am just disgusted at this game. Lebron James couldnt' have helped today!

You can't blame anyone. We are USF. The academic committee is a part of our program. They serve a purpose, and no one here wants our academics to suffer. That being said, unless Waverly Austin can f@cking fly AND guard four players at once AND play point guard against the press he would not have made any difference.

Wait a gd minute. Last year at this time we were the most talented team in the Big East on this board. Now who exactly did we graduate that makes us now rubbish for a year or two? We have a ton of talent relative to our competition. Coaches do their jobs and we improve to a bowl at least. Heck, that's all I want for fear of anything better and we lose our coach and our coach and force woulard into finding another one...

They actually got it wrong they called a shot clock violation and it wasn't. Should have just been a miss and the clock never should have stopped. I liked the shot and all, but the refs screwed it up.
