I just wish we would hear something about the defense. I hope that he doesn't neglect it during the season like he is while hiring a staff.

No one can argue (sarcasm intended because we all know we will argue anything) that we lost more games and in the last year due to lack of depth in the secondary than almost any other reason. The seriously in hind sight t-Rex didn't add much to the WRs but could have been used in a secondary that lost dozens of games in the 4th quarter over the last three years.

I figured we would see something after the WKU game, and that didn't happen so hopefully Willie has a solid DC in mind. He is an offense minded HC so he needs the best DC he can pull in. Don't know if Shannon is that guy or not. Maybe we wait for the Louisville scandal to unfold and grab Strong after they find out he ordered the 'hit' on the player (all made up BS so don't ask for links, well the scandal isn't but my conspiracy theory is).

I think you are a fool if you think this team had as many personnel issues as you stated. This team had a motivation issue and a game plan issue. Willie T turns this team around quickly. High energy is all we need and we ahad none of it last year. I think that the OP was stating that we need a stud RB because that hasn't been our focus in years past. Last year at this time not one person on this message board would have said a word about Ron Anderson. We have plenty of bodies to fill the role. They will work it out and get better. Brock is no Collins, but he is WAY better than Nash. Nash had one career game last year and was so-so in fill in time other than that. This team won't have the success they had last year unless Fitzpatrick steps in as a body and starts rebounding. He has been better this year than last, but he needs to command space under the basket. I think he will and that will leave Rudd and Poland to slash more and Collins to operate the offense with Noriega having a bigger hand. Fill in with players like White, Leday, etc. and this team has a shot at going 500 in conference again. Everybody has to start finding their roles and based on talent alone if Heath can get last years team ready for the run they made at the end of the season he might just be able to do it again this year. Now next year I think barring catastrophe they hit the gorund running and are ranked before big east play starts..
