  1. http://www.philly.com/philly/news/temple-university-football-stadium-details-plans-englert-20180329.html?arc404=true 'nuff said. this took a single-ish winning season to manifest for Temple football. USF has had a decade of relevancy to make moves on our OCS and hardly anything official has surfaced. woof. plus, the complexities of construction process for Temple in North Philly far outweigh what USF would face in derelict Temple Terrace. how there hasn't been more support from the City of Tampa in facilitating this through incentives etc. is completely ******* backwards, and emblematic of USF admins inability to cauterize community around university. perhaps this will be the initiative incoming pres will hang their hat on.
  2. pretty impressive viewership #'s at ~1,066,000 in six years time. you wouldn't think this site was getting that kind of traffic with the small group of ~50 nutbags that make up the pool of regular posters, myself included of course. i'm sure at least 20% of those clickthroughs are prob Smazza from back when.
  3. essentially start our drive from the 15yd line and we can't get a go-ahead 7?
  4. phone convo with my 63yr old mom today, 'seems like usf tries to conserve their energy in the 1st half of every game i've been able to watch with your dad, then comes out after halftime and scores all of their points.' oh to be so gentle. mom'd
  5. not sure how my point was misinterpreted here, as that's exactly what I was illustrating with my post. if anything, we've arrived at some odd middle ground of brand-confusion with academic signage featuring a caricature of our athletic mascot, but one that's not immediately associable with any existing athletic iconography. whole thing's a massive clusterfuck, completely missed their mark with creative direction.
  6. by most people's assessment, the opposite would be true, as USF now features the athletic mascot front and center for academic signage, apparently. you don't see texas with a longhorn, or florida with a gator, or alabama with an elephant?
  7. enjoying the national spotlight while it lasts. b2b weeks eking out W's against 1 win squads, with our marquee victory over a 3-4 GT team. not all undefeated's are created equally.
  8. originally what activated me to pushback, as i use linkedin as a valuable networking platform in tech. not an intelligent application of rebrand at all, unfair to force this into personal professional space of your alumni with no opportunity for feedback. why tap an obscure icon of athletic mascot to represent your institution? at least give us the new usf logo for context. universities with globally recognizable mascots have their traditional seal or aca logo on linkedin. whole situation makes my headspin. just another boneheaded gaff from usf marketing. embarrassing
  9. took three reads of tweet before it registered as fb news.
  10. there must be a few for-profit colleges in the area to reference for precedent. maybe we could work-in a corporate sponsor somewhere in the graphic like Denny's, Chick-fil-A, or Target; a representation of the the long-standing local institutions surrounding our campus. think total Disneyfication. just spitballing here.
  11. wish I had the mental bandwidth to lay out my critique of this brand refresh blunder. qualms are many, what a disaster.
  12. point of pride. as a realist though, we would get trounced by any squad on that list not in the AAC. the hilarity that we're two spots from a team like Penn State. incomparable on-field product between programs.
  13. for whoever else couldn't find um on google's score module. highlights.
  14. USF only favored in 3 of final 7 matchups? loot to be made.
  15. dude's a deadbeat at work, with the potential to earn $14m in a severance package. nonsense. also, motorcycles.
  16. stop the presses! TBT circulation numbers in print probably dogshit anyway. guess there's plenty of elderly in hillsborough and pinellas to keep paper afloat, ya? vocal minority out in full force online. seem like I never hear anything positive about our beat writers through the years. obviously an analytic decision by brass to slight USF in favor of P3 coverage, rite? either way, mack/flowers vs. cronkrite/barnett, what a beautiful thing.
  17. is firing CSH the most significant misstep in USF athletics history?
