  1. So I guess he has no shot in the pros then.
  2. You've got Knight over Auman? I'd switch those 2. I don't always agree with Jones but I like his writing style. When Joey first started writing articles about USF I wasn't crazy about him. Seemed like he was always trying to write the great American novel. But he seems to have altered his style a bit and is more readable, at least to me.
  3. He has told me that they try to hit a lot of tournaments when traveling overseas, or if they are playing in the US, to identify recruits when they are young and then keep an eye of them. An assistant told me that a lot of highlight tapes come in without being contacted. So reputation definitely helps them. At one practice this year the Denmark team that Jespersen played on was watching practice and believe they attended a game.
  4. We made the Thanksgiving tournament in Ft Myers last year because we played UCF in football at their place. With us playing them at home we won't be making this tournament.
  5. I've volunteered numerous times to meet with lower level donors. Just cover the lunch for the people I'm meeting. I'd cover my own. No one seems interested. Just let them know they are appreciated. Kind of like a MBB coach recruiting to Kentucky and recruiting to USF. Edit: Pretty sure the newest guys, Josh and Jeff are to work on major gifts. That only leaves a couple of people for the lower level donors which now seems to include the lowest level of Iron Bulls. And to give some credit where due, Andrew Goodrich is the guy that brought in the million $ donation from the Naimolis.
  6. Yet, as you said, our success last year with that Pro Style was because of the dual threat QB.
  7. After reading more on this it sounds like he is just there to help coach/evaluate for the selection of the team, not be a coach of the team. Still a nice recognition.
  8. Wasn't the basketball practice facility about $25 million? A combined IP and football center would top that but the IPF is about $18 million??? Just going from memory so a likelihood I'm off on the numbers.
  9. Just don't see a kid coming in anew and learning the system well enough to run it as quickly as it should be run.
  10. Yes, but it worked out better for him. Do you think he would have been drafted sitting on the bench at USF?
  11. Don't laugh, we actually did cut out the bottoms of baskets to use as a hoop. Would rig it to a telephone pole. Inner city kids are resourceful.
  12. Next up, a pissing match over whether there are pissing matches on this Board.
  13. I don't remember exactly what was said but the translation, to me, sounded like "meh". It was early in the year so it may have been that game. We didn't get to too many games this year but did see UConn.
  14. Not by much. And as Brad said it is the anonymity of it. I've gotten along with every board member I've met whether there have been disagreements in discussions or not. There are only 1 or 2 that make me a bit crazy with their posts but would still like to meet them.
  15. Early in the season. I didn't know who he was. Kids kept coming up to him asking for his autograph. My wife noted an Atlanta belt on him and I put 2 and 2 together. Started chatting a bit. He was there to see Shane. When they took him from the game Bobby left and as he walked away I asked what he thought. It was kind of "meh". Doesn't mean the Braves won't draft him.
  16. According to CSB this course sets up well for us. The grass and greens are familiar to our guys unlike last year when we went to LSU (I believe).
  17. That gadget is f'n awesome. Can it be sent to rotate so that you move around the arc?
