  1. Believe it was luck of the draw with UCF getting home course. Didn't the national championship rounds get played just an hour south of Tampa the year we made the final 8? CSB was pretty happy with getting that course in Kissimmee. Same grasses as we are used to playing on. And, to the person that asked, top 5 go. Don't know how ties are settled. We are only 2 clear of not making the Top 5 so expect to see some nerves tomorrow. As for UCF's team, they played us pretty much even at the event in Gainesville earlier this year. They've got a nice squad.
  2. On the Pete Rose topic. Didn't he bet, or at least get caught, while being a manager? All those hits he got are legit. No PEDs involved in any of those hits. Put him in the HOF.
  3. I find this topic very interesting. Don't think I even know how to down or up vote. Is it the little heart thing at the bottom of each post? Don't plan on using it so it probably doesn't matter.
  4. I usually follow along on the GolfStat app. They normally post scores every 3 holes.
  5. Been following along most of the day since we didn't make the trip over there. Play was suspended, I believe, before all of our guys had a chance to tee off for a little over an hour. Early on we were down the list then made our way up to 3rd. Kyle was leading the way until a double on the 5th (we started on the 10th). Will need to play better the next couple of days to cement our spot in moving on.
  6. The Sheriff should be commenting on this momentarily.
  7. That or he would have been 3rd string at Florida (pick any M5 school) and not see the field. He got what he wanted, set school records here at USF. I hope he makes it and makes some $$$$. No guarantee he'd be an NFL player even if he went somewhere else as a RB or slot receiver.
  8. We had all intentions of going to the Monday's round at Reunion. But cancelled our room tonight because of the weather. We're fans and do our best to try and support but just don't see us walking around in the rain, even if if is on and off, for 5 hours. Wish the guys the best. With all the great weather we've had it's a shame to have this moisture move in at the wrong time.
  9. That could have been what was actually happening on the field. We really can't have nice things.
  10. That is more than likely true. Came here because of the shot to play QB.
  11. Well, if the poster thinks he couldn't make USF's roster as a RB pretty sure it follows that he can't make a pro team. Okay, it is the Bengals but they are still considered a pro team. Not saying I believe that. I could see him as a 3rd down guy. Don't think he's a 25 carry a game guy up the middle - despite doing just that while here.
  12. So I guess he has no shot in the pros then.
  13. You've got Knight over Auman? I'd switch those 2. I don't always agree with Jones but I like his writing style. When Joey first started writing articles about USF I wasn't crazy about him. Seemed like he was always trying to write the great American novel. But he seems to have altered his style a bit and is more readable, at least to me.
  14. He has told me that they try to hit a lot of tournaments when traveling overseas, or if they are playing in the US, to identify recruits when they are young and then keep an eye of them. An assistant told me that a lot of highlight tapes come in without being contacted. So reputation definitely helps them. At one practice this year the Denmark team that Jespersen played on was watching practice and believe they attended a game.
  15. We made the Thanksgiving tournament in Ft Myers last year because we played UCF in football at their place. With us playing them at home we won't be making this tournament.
  16. I've volunteered numerous times to meet with lower level donors. Just cover the lunch for the people I'm meeting. I'd cover my own. No one seems interested. Just let them know they are appreciated. Kind of like a MBB coach recruiting to Kentucky and recruiting to USF. Edit: Pretty sure the newest guys, Josh and Jeff are to work on major gifts. That only leaves a couple of people for the lower level donors which now seems to include the lowest level of Iron Bulls. And to give some credit where due, Andrew Goodrich is the guy that brought in the million $ donation from the Naimolis.
  17. Yet, as you said, our success last year with that Pro Style was because of the dual threat QB.
  18. After reading more on this it sounds like he is just there to help coach/evaluate for the selection of the team, not be a coach of the team. Still a nice recognition.
