  1. So we are up to page 45 - we need a poll as to what happens first: A) This thread eclipses the mother of all threads (expansion rumors) or B) VPMK actually takes action
  2. 3-3-3-3 Typically, we have owned the third quarter
  3. Took me a minute to see it - great idea, though we have mostly been treading water in the second half, so I am not sure that this would exactly result in a win
  4. This video epitomizes CJL to a tee - he always emphasized the proverbial fight in the dog over the dog in the fight As he stated, if he was in-charge and in CJS’ specific predicament, he would find the 22 guys who wanted to work and put them on the field (regardless of talent) I have no doubt that if CJL in his prime was coaching this specific roster, with this schedule, he would be 4-1 (at worst, 3-2)
  5. No doubt, there were times against ECU when we played well (both on offense and defense) The issue was that those times did not occur when the game mattered (basically, from the time it was 0-0 until it was 41-7)
  6. Well, every school also wins on the road, so USF is just trying to be consistent here
  7. Pretty sure that CJL did this from 1997 - 2002 and only had one year under .500
  8. Sure, this is America, so anything is technically possible
  9. I vote night game since it will probably elicit less drunken rants on TBP (the more outspoken will hopefully just pass out in the 3rd qtr)
  10. I read in another thread that VPMK does not comment on coaches during the season - he may not be able to continue this policy much longer There is an odds on chance that we will be 1-7 by month’s end, ensuring our 4th straight losing season and an 8-40 record since Chuckles smoke and mirrors start in 2018 2 options: 1) He comes out in support of CJS, stating how bright the future is - I am sure Scott would appreciate the vote of confidence and air cover 2) He comes out with a more generic, we met and have discussed the current direction of the program. This would be open ended enough not to be derogatory of the coach, while still acknowledging that things may not be so sunny in Tamplona and the mob is starting to mass at the gates
  11. My son goes to Lakewood - MVS donates heavily to both the football and track program (both of which helped him get to where he is) His mom still attends every home game, running the 50/50 raffle . . . so yeah, Lakewood is still important to MVS
  12. Are you suggesting that we all follow a team other than USF?
  13. So we have tried several things on offense - IMO, just put the ball in GB’s hands and let him call the plays from the huddle (how much worse could that be in the first half?) Doing that, we may even get a first down earlier than the fifth offensive series
  14. How many on here do you think picked up on the Don Quixote reference? (I did not even have to look it up)
  15. I saw the same thing - letting up about 5+ yards out I am pretty sure that coaches teach this, since hitting (or even in some cases touching) a player in the end zone is almost a guaranteed unnecessary roughness penalty
  16. I agree 100% - the players played to the end and that is commendable
  17. That is exactly what the color guy said on the ESPN broadcast, except he phrased it as “poor decision making and play calling”
  18. You forgot to mention that it ended with 4 plays from inside the 5 yard line, resulting in -1 yards and 0 points
  19. Well, on the bright side, he recognizes that winning the second half is basically meaningless if you get trounced in the first - this is kind of like when Charlie repeatedly stated in 2019 that the team was unprepared It is nice to recognize and own a problem, but ultimately, the head coach is accountable to fix said problem and if he can’t . . .
  20. Tags is in his 3rd season at FAU and sitting at 2-4, having lost 3 straight - I am surprised he is not higher than #11 The one I am curious about is Niumatalolo - he is 1-3, but he has been at Navy for 15 years and has had a good amount of success in a place that is next to impossible to have sustained winning
  21. Not a chance - despite the growing number of torches and pitchforks, CJS is here until at least December
  22. 100% hired a different coach Facilities, OCS, contributions combined with Chuckles still would have led us to where we are today Can we fire Charlie again?
  23. I did not bother listening to the postgame - if that is one of Scott’s quotes, that is a pretty pathetic positive (and basically the same one all year - get your doors blown off in the first half, then wake up once the game is over)
