    The real answer to all of this is to dispense with the NILs and roll the payments into the actual scholarships The NIL collectives could still fund the scholarships through the universities, but since the scholarship is a contract, the universities could add a buyout clause similar to coaches contracts The problem though would be Title IX and the non-revenue sports - scholarship values for football and men’s basketball would far outpace all other sports

    I stick by my statement regarding recruiting and player development Yes - Weaver, Horn and Boyles were all recruited to USF. For whatever reason, they all felt that their path to the next level was better somewhere else. Some (not all) of that decision was invariably based upon the player development that was happening at USF at the time

    Wow - our last draft pick was in 2018. That speaks volumes about how bad the recruiting and player development was under CCS and CJS

    My recollection of seasons past really comes down to how did - I can recall almost every game from 2005-2009, but I am not sure that we played any games from 2020-2022. All I really recall from ‘20-‘22 is something about how the greatness of Clemson was mentioned in every other breath from the head coach

    Holy Cow - we just beat #5 WVU and I think that we are going to be ranked in the top 10!!!!! . . . oh, wait, I just realized that was a replay from 2007

    Stat wise, the game was pretty even and though it did not seem like it - offensive rebounds were 10/15 in-favor of USF (though VCU seemed to convert on everyone of theirs, while our offensive rebounds seemed to end in missed shots) The biggest difference was 3 pt shooting - they were almost 40% to our 20

    I was looking up Ryan Odom and was surprised that he left Utah State for VCU, since the Mountain West (at least currently) is a better conference than the A10

    CAAR’s name is going to show up on a lot of these lists - some of it may be real, most of it will probably be journalist BS (because they have to report something) I would be shocked if a big program seriously went after him after a single good year in the AAC Plus, if he can string together three good years at USF, he can probably have his choice of jobs (this is assuming of course that he is looking to move up)

    It is not a personal foul, but the referees could asses a technical or flagrant 2 if they felt that it was intentional or overly malicious Considering that is at least the second time that he has done that, I would not be surprised if he gets T’d up if it happens again

    What a useless review on what was clearly just an illegal pick - these unnecessary reviews are part of what is slowing the game down

    They look a little better with the deeper green, but overall, one of the side benefits of no longer playing UCF is that we do not need to see these very often

    CAAR has had a great year, but it is a single great year in the AAC Unless he takes USF to the final four, I do not see this year as a large enough body of work to garner a 2-3x offer from a bigger program Now if he repeats the feat next year and USF is in the top 10, that would be a different story
