  1. I was originally thinking some simple spreed play like that, but with some of the recent turmoil (Timmy leaving and all), my guess is CJS is going to be looking to make a statement with his QB right out of the gate
  2. Any predictions? I am guessing play action pass, with a post route over the middle to Weaver, for 30 yards
  3. Nothing in the Bull Bits about Severino throwing what I believe was his only TD, to stretch the lead against UCF to 64-12
  4. What, you are not interested in having Scott Brantley calling games for USF . . . talking about his pickup truck and how he screwed cows between throwing touchdowns, back in the glory days for UF?
  5. I have a feeling that this will not be the last time that he transfers schools
  6. Waiving a cell phone in the air is now considered a talent? I must be seriously out of touch with Gen Z
  7. This really comes down to what is Collegiate Athletics If these are non-profit educational institutions (which I believe includes everyone except GCU), then the money should not matter, so small and large govern collectively If these have morphed into for profit business, then they should be taxed/regulated accordingly and to your point, the SEC would care less about Springfield College’s say
  8. So the CFP would potentially oversee all of college football? Isn’t that kind of like putting the wolves in charge of the hen house?
  9. Brian Fisher was a human spark plug - that guy was like the Energizer Bunny on the field Raymond was a hard worker - his story generated a lot of positive press for us Nichols had a hall of fame profile picture
  10. At least we are not Vermont - the football there is so bad that they do not even have a team showing on the map Also, good showing by the AAC - 4 current members and one future member
  11. In actuality, we have 4 QB golden standards in Blackwell, Grothe, Daniels and Flowers Unfortunately, Blackwell played before half of the current players were born and the most they have seen of Matt and BJ on the field is during halftime of Spring Games As such, QF would be the standard for the current team
  12. I think this pretty much sums it up for Timmy and USF Hopefully he finds what he is looking for at his next stop
  13. Given that GB was a high profile get for USF, I would imagine that there was some tangential discussion about him starting - maybe not a guarantee, but something like, if you come in and compete, your chances are extremely good Also, I have to figure that the staff wanted to keep Timmy, so a corresponding conversation should have happened with him at the same time As you stated, somewhere there was a misunderstanding, otherwise, Timmy probably would have transferred when the GB signing occurred
  14. That statement is just tee’d up for someone to kick through the uprights
  15. Anyone seen the new jerseys for sale yet? I checked the bookstore site and Fanatics - neither had the new threads
  16. Hard to vote against Trae Williams in this group - him and Mike Jenkins anchored what had to our best secondary ever
  17. 1. Do you have children still in school? Yes - HS & middle 2. What is your favorite "school" movie? PCU 3. Craziest memory of your school days? From high school, riding on the hood of a car TJ Hooker style, doing 40 MPH 4. What encouraging/inspiring quote would you give on the first day of Kindergarten? Don’t catch the CLAP (bonus if anyone knows what movie that is from) 5. What silly question would/do you ask Alexa? Why are you such a hoser
  18. I voted passer, because my favorite MG memories are all pass plays (roll tackle pass to Green vs Pitt in ‘06, TD to Mitchell vs WVU in ‘07, GWTD to Hester vs Auburn, TD to Johnson vs UCF in OT, TD to Johnson vs Kansas) As others have noted, he was a heck of a runner as well
  19. For all of you taking about current record, keep in mind that magazine covers are more about merchandising (where the real money from the movie is made) than Ws/Ls Even in the BE days, we were more of a regional draw, so I can see where a statewide magazine might not feature USF. Either way, I at least thought that we were on the same brand level as our friends in Orlando I did not buy either magazine as a measure of my protest about this heinous oversight
  20. I was surprised that both Lindys and Phil Steele went with 4 teams as opposed to 5 or 3 - these were on the rack at Publix off Roosevelt in St Pete and were the only CFB previews Mangham - he should have a good year and will be one of the team leaders (honestly, I had to lookup the UM, FSU and UCF players featured)
  21. Hopefully some of the players notice this as well - would love to see this team develop the Us vs the World attitude
  22. True enough - lots of USF talent has worn #5, including 3 who played in the NFL (Mitchell, Allen and Mack)
  23. I am wondering when college teams start differentiating payments based on skill/position - after all, is the next star QB worth the same as a guy you are bringing on as a third string kicker? At that point, they would basically be pro-teams
  24. Unspecified violation of team rules - one of Skip’s first dismissals Ricky Ponton was another one who had so much talent, but not much going on upstairs. I believe he wore #5, so we can lament his loss in around 3 weeks
