  1. IMO, a lot was on Weis - why call 30 yard down field passes when your QBs are only accurate to 10 and why have a true freshman go through multiple progressions
  2. Like most things USF these days, what we are really discussing is confidence in CJS to do the following: 1) Recruit talent 2) Evaluate how that talent will perform on the field during live action 3) Through his coaching staff, develop schemes and plays that put that talent in situations where they can maximize their abilities and thus excel on the field It appears that CJS has accomplished #1 - I am not sold on the fact that he can effectively do #2 & #3 (2 & 3 translate to Ws & Ls) For me, 2022 is a make or break year for CJS in regards to 2 & 3 (the make being 6 wins) and I will reserve my final judgment after all games have been played. As I stated, I am cautiously optimistic that CJS has learned a few things and will be better this year with 2 & 3 Based on your responses, it seems like you are also not sold on 2 & 3, but you are not yet at a make or break point
  3. I voted optimistic, mainly because I feel that we will be .500 or better for the first time in 4 seasons, which is progress As NEB stated, I am a bit sad that the state of USF football is such that I am excited about what will otherwise be classified as a mediocre season
  4. Not to invoke wrath or go off-topic, but Puc has brought up Scott’s ability to properly evaluate QB talent multiple times . . .
  5. True - hindsight is 20/20 and our talent pool at QB under CJS has been shallow IMO, the 2020 starter should have been McCloud and 2021 McClain, without all the musical chairs. Switching marginal QBs in and out does nothing to bolster confidence nor consistency. Plus, Weis did little to help any of the QBs out - he did not seem to call plays based on the individual QBs abilities nor run plays designed to build momentum With a single QB each year, we are still a bad team, but the win total probably goes up to 3-4 in 20 and 4-5 in 21 (assuming that the offense could have generated enough points to overcome the defensive issues as you pointed out) Fortunately, Weis is gone, the QB talent has improved and CJS has stated that he will choose a starter early in camp
  6. Whoever Scott picks, thank goodness that he is getting this over early, so that the coaches can dial-in the offense and the players can rally around the starter Scott’s QB indecisiveness the past two seasons was one of the factors leading to his 3-18 record. Hopefully he has learned from this mistake
  7. Nope - no mention of Charlie Strong or Blake Barnett in the tweet
  8. Just out of curiosity, I looked at jerseys for a few other Addidas Schools (Miami, Nebraska, KU and Louisville) they are basically all the same general design, so we are not the only ones getting hosed The thing that bothers me the most about the jerseys is that they are all decals of some sort (numbers, school logos, etc) as opposed to something actually stitched in - that automatically makes them look cheap IMO
  9. Throw in a billion dollar Congressional appropriation for the OCS (with en-suite OCP), plus a Constitutional Amendment banning the designated hitter and you have my vote
  10. UA contract started in 2008 - my favorite all time was 2007, which was the last year of the Nike contract
  11. If 4 of our 5 starting O-Lineman get drafted, that would mean that we had a MONSTER year on offense. 6 wins would be a cakewalk in that scenario
  12. While I would love to see Jennings, Cecil and Harris get drafted, I do not see that happening IMO, our best O-Line ever was probably 2007 and out of those 5 (Dile, Schmidt, Griffin, Hermann and Walker), I do not think any wound up being drafted (a few were UDFAs) Based on his size, my guess is Jennings is a late round pick, with the other two as UDFAs
  13. Even Chuckles had success as an analyst, so if he can do it, anyone can
  14. I am guessing that he is the first former Bull to start on the mound in an MLB All-Star Game?
  15. Seems like a good idea - I am guessing that Morris needs a job (and a bit of career rehab), while we need all the help that we can get
  16. I wish i live I St Pete, so I will be at the 6 home games, plus UF I watch more than USF on ESPN+, so while I do not like the increase, it is not yet the final straw on my back
  17. Think of it this way, that extra $10 is a steal of a deal compared to the cost of seeing the 12 football games in-person (for someone not in Tampa, figure 9k+ for the full slate, between flights, hotel, car and food)
  18. 1. What is your favorite cartoon? The Simpsons 2. Favorite USF QB? Matt Grothe, Q was great, but we got to #2 when Matt was under center 3. Favorite USF RB? Andre Hall, imagine if he had been at USF for 4 years as opposed to 2 4. Favorite USF WR? Taurus Johnson, great hands, good speed, one of the toughest WRs we have ever had and best name ever for a USF athlete 5.What music would you choose to play every time you entered a room? Another One Bites the Dust
  19. I get that he is locked in and not going anywhere for a few seasons, but rating him as untouchable (same rating as Dabo, Fickell and Saban), seems a bit of a stretch considering he has had one good (but not great) season “Safe and Secure” would have made more sense Personally, I think Malzhan ultimately is going to be as effective at UCF as Tuberville was at Cinci
  20. I am wondering what this guy sees in Malzhan to rank him as untouchable after a 9-4 season, where he lost to a 4-8 Navy team, barely squeaked by us and really did not beat anyone with a pulse. Is a bowl win over a horrendous UF team really worth that much? If so, CJS can really score some brownie points on Sep 17
