  1. Week 4 starts the 12-day and 6-day options for TV. Most likely the game time won't be announced until Sept. 15th. If I were a betting man, I would bet on an 11am ct time start.
  2. And a virtually endless supply of other articles and official docs as well... It's sad that public discourse (of which this board is just a microcosm) has degraded to such a point that rather than discussing the substantive merits of a position or action, people just scream that your (well documented, undisputed) facts are wrong. Not saying that I never take a position driven by emotion, passion, or immaturity, but this conversation has clearly reached the point that I could say the earth is round and he would disagree because he is so entrenched he just can't take a step back and admit that he was mistaken about what was, in essence, a relatively minor point. Sorry for the rant (and pissing match); I just find this so disheartening. That's why even when you are surely right, sometimes it still feels like you bend over and take it up the tail pipe. And yes, it is well-documented that the Glazers get the dough, but I have neither the patience nor the right mind to substantiate it on this board.
  3. Just because something is new does not automatically make it better. These helmets suck! While you are looking terms up on-line try one this program seems to have a hard time acquiring: Tradition- the transmission of customs or beliefs from generation to generation, or the fact of being passed on in this way. So piss yellow helmets are tradition? LOL. YOUR opionion is that these new alternate helmets suck, recruit/player reaction is that they're great. These aren't our every game helmets. It would seem to me, that USF is trying to establish tradition and build upon it in other ways than just uniforms. Those spanish bulls are now a landmark at USF, as is the new and improved Marshall Center and the Sun Dome. This school wasn't much to look at 15 years ago, it has come a long way. I'm sure an on campus stadium will also be a major landmark one day. USF has only been around since 56, and football has only been around since 97. Hard to establish some of the 100 year traditions that other schools have while USF is still in the midst of finding its own brand-worthy identity. And sorry to break it to you, but piss colored helmets aren't it. Oregon seems to be doing just fine with their alternate unis, same with: Maryland, TCU, Iowa State, Duke, Kansas, Notre Dame, Boise State, Wake Forest, Ole Miss, Texas, Washington State, South Carolina, Nebraska, Miss State, Tennessee, Indiana, Illinois, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Texas A&M, Oregon State, Cal, Baylor, West Virgina, Louisville, Texas Tech, North Carolina, UConn, Rutgers, Arizona, BYU, Arizona State, Houston, Buffalo, FAU, Southern Miss, WKU, Miami (OH), Nevada, Memphis, Georgia State, South Alabama, Appalachian State, Fresno State, Louisiana-Lafayette, Western Michigan, New Mexico State, Lousiana Tech I could keep going with schools who have alternate uniforms but I think you're catching on. Some of the schools listed above have long and storied traditions, but also have new alternate uniforms. Uniforms do not make tradition, unless you are Alabama. And Alabama, we are not. I have no problem with alternate uniforms (although I can also provide a long list of universities who do not do this). But I wonder how many recruits actually choose a university based on the uniform? There is no way of knowing (there is no data to support or denounce) so to say this makes an absolute difference is not factual. In terms of our "piss yellow" helmets I think many fans still prefer them as it reminds us of happier times...thus, it could have been any color. That being said, either way, at the end of the day I just want my alma mater to win football games and be an impact in CFB. You would be so sadly shocked as to how many recruits factor in alternate unis, helmets, and logo (nike, UA, etc). It's insane. I have worked inside the facility for a number of years and have been apart of that process.
  4. Harlan knows how 2 schedule games. Harlan didn't schedule any of them.
  5. http://www.rantsports.com/ncaa-football/2014/06/19/soft-scheduling-nearly-guarantees-nc-state-footballs-return-to-the-postseason/ "The biggest thing going for NC State this season is their out-of-conference schedule. The Wolfpack kicks off the season with four extremely winnable games against the Georgia Southern Eagles, the Old Dominion Monarchs, the South Florida Bulls and the Presbyterian Blue Hose. There is absolutely no reason for the Wolfpack to enter ACC play with anything worse than a 4-0 record. Even the Bulls, who were a decent team a half-decade or so ago, should not challenge NC State. As difficult as last season was for the Wolfpack, the Bulls were simply awful, going 2-10 on the year including a loss to the McNeese State Cowboys."
  6. CBSSN has an HD channel on DirecTV FYI, in case you, your friends, or a local bar has it.
  7. Not sure if this has already been posted: http://www.faniq.com/blog/South-Florida-Football-GameByGame-Predictions-for-the-Bulls-2014-Season-Blog-76992
  8. FWIW http://www.bcsnn.com/big-xii/777-big-12-expansion-ucf-cincinnati-byu-uconn-and-usf.html
  9. Been a while since we talked about it, but is CWT giving Wulff playcalling duties? I can't remember. Expect Wulff to run offensive practice, Wulff/Taggart to create the gameplan on offense, and Taggart to call plays.
  10. I agree with your premise, but Hopkins is gone. Rodney Adams will get added to the mix though.
  11. +1 I would be very happy if we could split the Maryland & NC State game, and even keep the Wisconsin game close in the 2nd half (making the trip up there). If the the offense can take two steps forward because of familiarity, and the defense only takes a half step back because of personnel losses, we have a chance to go 5-5 into those final two games. This is all being said with the hope it doesn't come off the rails in game 1, although McNeese is much better than Western Carolina.
  12. I'm confused, is he supposed to be making the swtich to defense when he gets here?
  13. 1. Blackwell 2. Meineke Car Care Bowl - '05 vs. NC State and '10 vs. Clemson 3. The famed kicking tee 4. K. Jones, A. Henry, B. Gramatica 5. Louisville (Bobby Petrino) in '05 but should have been TCU (Gary Patterson) in '03
  14. Adams is eligible immediately due to NCAA Hardship waiver
  15. Only a guess but I'm thinking we'll rotate the western teams. Sure hope so anyway. Would like to make the trip to all of those places other than maybe Tulsa. Navy, New Orleans, Houston, Dallas are all places that would be good to visit on occasion. Edit: And don't see any real rivalries amongst those in the west to pair off on a regular basis. i believe there was talk about putting us and ucf in different conferences, so they would have permanent cross division rivalry games so would play them every year. To be honest, this is what I was thinking would happen. I'm actually a bit surprised we are in the same division. No yearly crossover matchup since USF-UCF, UH-SMU, Cincy-UConn are already in division. It will be 3 crossovers on rotation. Conference title game will be played at home of the highest seed.
  16. Under that format, our 2015 conference schedule will likely look like this: Home: Tulsa, Cincy, Temple Away: UCF, ECU, UConn TBD Home or Away: Tulane, Navy Under the assumption: -UH, SMU, Memphis come off the schedule because we would have played a home and home with all the three of those teams by the end of 2014. -We played Temple on the road in 2012. -All other divisonal opponents switch home and away for 2015.
  17. I'm hoping to recruit some former alumni/friends to Dallas for that weekend as well.
  18. CousinRicky, not a bad area at all. I live in Dallas, so let me know if you need help finding anything.
  19. Tony Barbee, Steve Roccaforte, Chuck Martin, Bruiser Flint...all failed coaches from the Calipari tree. Kellogg is the only one that's done OK. Cool Story Bro. Not if you're a USF fan, bro. Someone's still bitter that Calipari dumped his school for UK. I'd ask Coach Cal for comment but he is prepping for the final four (again). Memphis has been a disappointment since it parted ways with Calipari too. Uh, we could have hired Antigua, Barbee, or Kellogg...there's very good reason we didn't. If I were angry at Calipari, why would I be upset you hired one of his asst coaches? You didn't hire Cal. Guess i don't follow that "logic" The 'logic' says you care enough to post on this thread when it doesn't really relate to anything Memphis other than the fact that Calipari once coached there and we have now hired his assistant. Therefore, the Calipari assistant bashing makes you like you are holding a grudge. The fact that you responded so seriously to my 'Cool Story Bro' pretty much shows you that 'logic' as well.
