  1. They are likely just the white practice helmets. We have a white practice set and separate game white game helmets, gold game helmets, and green game helmets.
  2. No matter what they wear, all 3 game helmets will be ready to go before the season starts...
  3. WKU was a program that had no life. He injected enthusiasm. We could use the same. WKU went from a non-bowl team to a bowl team. We would like to be a bowl team again. He has strong recruiting ties to this area. We could use great recruiting classes. He is considered the "third" brother to the two coaches in this last Super Bowl. Both of the coaches have high praise for him. The offense he runs has turned a school that was a Pac-12 irrelevant into one of the best offenses (and teams) in the country. Our offense is dire need of some life after the last 3 games of last year. He exudes confidence and wants to turn us into a bully. USF needs both of those things to happen. I'm not saying he is a sure thing (I liked the Holtz hire at the time) but he fits our current resume down to a (coach) T.
  4. She didn't even know that USF opened the season at home. She has zero credibility in my eyes. Louk's enthusiasm was pretty refreshing though.
  5. I like them. If I recall, our only two wins against FBS were with white helmets last year. Also, we beat @Cincy, @Rutgers, @UMiami, and Clemson with white helmets.
  6. Apis - I think you mean a senior, redshirt sophomore, and a true sophomore
  7. In my defense, I tried to end this thread on my first post lol
  8. Greg has asked him about this and he said that would not be an option. They will select one QB and move on.
  9. Makes me smile whenever I see both of my Alma mater in one thread
  10. I have CBS Sports Network HD on DirecTV, so I'm fine with it.
  11. No guarantees. Drive fast. I don't really care either way. Cook is more exciting to watch and can make a play if the call breaks down. Maxwell is more conservative and a better decision maker (only threw 9 INTs in 446 attempts last year, and 3 of those were in the first half of the season opener). It doesn't matter who starts if the WRs can't catch the ball. OL needs to keep them clean too. With a good OL, I feel like Maxwell is the safer option. The defense is loaded. Couple players of note: CB Darqueze Dennard - Very good cornerback for us, being labeled as a 1st-2nd round draft pick in this upcoming draft. SS Isaiah Lewis - Fearless hitter, pretty fast. Makes some dumb decisions at times but he's a pretty good safety and has started 3 years now for us. OLB Taiwan Jones - This guy is a physical freak. 6'3 250lbs and plays the most coverage-heavy LB spot in our defense. Midway through the season he took over a senior captain & 3 year starter's position. Is only a true junior. I could talk about quite a few members of the defense but Bullough and Dennard are #1A and B in terms of star power. Also, i'd be highly surprised if you could run the ball. One of the (few) highlights of last year was us holding Wisconsin to 0.5 YPC in Madison. The pass rush was terrible last year, but the run defense was lights out. Thanks, that gives me a good idea of what to look for. I just want make sure that you know running the ball will probably be our gameplan, not saying it's going to be effective lol. We will likely use RB by committee. The Spartans defense is the best on our schedule. We will probably try to establish some sort of run early in hopes we can use play action more effectively. Any QB that starts for us will have under 4 starts in their college career, so we will need to take pressure off of our QB early. FYI, this is will be the first time we didn't have a clear no. 1 starter since the training camp of 2006. I will be making the trip to East Lansing, so looking forward to a great game and a great time. We are staying in Detroit on Sunday. I'm not sure if you are familiar with that area as well, but do you have any sports bars you would recommend with a good amount of HDTVs and NFL Sunday Ticket. I'm looking for a good place to watch the Bucs game. Win or lose, the majority of this board will likely be rooting for the Spartans from week 3 until end of the season. Go Bulls If you are in Detroit on a Sunday they opened up a new sports bar TAP in the MGM casino. Supposed to be nice. They also just opened up BW3 but I imagine you will want to go somewhere different. Hockeytown Cafe is decent but not sure of they have Sunday ticket. I would guess yes. Thanks mikemcp, I have actually been to the hockeytown cafe. I just feel like that is going to be a Lions/Tigers dominated place come Sunday Sept 8th. We were looking into the TAP as our no. 1 option, so we may check that out. I also heard about a place called Nemo's, but not sure how many televisions they have. We might do some recon work on saturday night during the ND-Michigan game so we are prepared for Sunday.
  12. ...if we took going a safe 2-2 out of the equation. Do you think we are more likely to go 3-1 or 1-3 this September factoring everything we know about training camp up until this point?
  13. 6-6 with a win against UCF would make it a satisfying season for me I'm counting on great effort, better clock management, and a slightly easier schedule to add three wins from last year's 3-9. I'm not sure what to think about UH being on a thursday night and UCONN on the road. Two games I feel we should win but never really win. I only feel confident about McNeese, FAU, and Memphis. SMU may have an offense that surprises.
  14. Spin it how you want, the last DC job he had in 2011 he wasn't asked back and his D gave up over 5 yards/play over 400 yards a game. No NFL coach has asked him to come in as DC coach last year or this. There are 5 new DC coordinators in the NFL this year alone. If he is so great, why didn't he get one of those jobs? Under this theory, Nick Saban sucked at coaching the Dolphins therefore he will suck coaching at Alabama. Oh, wait. Slick, not many people on here are saying we are thrilled that CCB was the first choice at D coordinator. Most are just saying let's just trust the choice and give him at least a year to implement and run his system. If his system isn't working well in the first half of the year, I'm not sure firing mid-season will save any type of BCS or other bowls hopes we all dream for. No one is arguing your main point of firing the guy if he doesn't do the job, I'll be the second guy in line behind you, but we just disagree on time frame being mid-season. I think we all agree that we want the defense to be camping out in everyone's backfield this fall. Go Bulls Well, that isn't the vibes I am getting from many like GAUSFBULL or Hem, etc.. He may be fine. But you do realize that the AAC has no auto bid to the big bowls after this year and every day the P5 seem to announce another bowl game they've signed another 6 year contract with, the SEC alone now has 10 guaranteed bowl spots for 14 teams. So yeah, mid season might seem harsh, but this is a unique season and who knows when USF is going to be in an auto qualifying conference again. I understand the new rules. If we have a great record and win the conference in the coming years, we still have a great chance to go to a BCS bowl under the best of G5 rule. It's crappier than what we have now, but it could be worse. I know Boise St will be the other likely compeitior each year for that slot, but not all hope is lost. I personally don't mind the hire of CCB. I am merely trying to point out that if we weren't strapped for time when CCB was hired, I think all of our lists might had different first choices in defensive coordinators. I think we did the best with the hand we were dealt.

  16. As uneasy as I feel about our QB and RB situation. It helps when I think not only was CWT a former QB, but he was a former RB coach for school that was literally brought back from the dead during his tenure. I trust him to evaluate our talent or lack thereof.
  17. So you're saying we have a sleeper cell of Kanigits on the board?? Not hard to figure out who they are when they post. Less than 2 years on board, low post count, passive aggressive posts, slide in negative OCS comments, occasional UCF positive comments, slam our team coaches programs campus school etc, but in a more subtle way. Throw in the occasional positive post about some benign USF related thing to keep from being ID'ed..... During recruiting, were quick to slam a possible recruit or parent of a recruit in hopes the recruit would read the board and get pissed. Yes, that happened a lot, go back and read those posts on the board closely. I'd estimate we have at least 20 posters on here that are clear UCF sleepers trying to build post counts. I may sound paranoid but I am aware of at least a few UCF guys who spend a lot of their efforts on hating everything USF. UCF hardcore fans obsess over USF. Though we don't reciprocate, which pisses them off more. Need evidence, just look at the Grothe/UCF issues with him and his dad and texts to his cell. You cannot get 100's of texts from people, including threats, unless they obsess about you. Flip that circumstance around and it would not have happened from USF to UCF. 4 - 0 must bring out the best and worst in people. Some of you may think I am paranoid. Maybe a little. But if you really look at it with an open eye and review posts for some of these folks, you will see what I mean. Why do I care? I have been here since 2001 and enjoy a community of like minded USF supporters. Through good and bad, we have shared our opinions and love for everything USF related. We were under the radar, and things were good. But now we have an opposing fan base to the East who are in our conference and cannot seem to worry about their own program. To make their point, everything they do is in relation to USF. BHNS vs RJS, CUSA vs BE, GPA for entering freshman, etc..... It is like we are the benchmark they aspire to. We are like the little brother who over-achieved and they are the jealous big brother who didn't live up to the parents expectations. They cannot feel good about their program without finding something wrong with USF. Okay, enough with my ranting. I just ask our true USF friends to keep up with "questioning" those posters who seem suspicious, because they probably are. Don't worry incrediBULL, I love a little paranoia in the morning.
  18. No problem. Fan Interference is actually a pretty good radio show if you like listening to local Tampa Bay sports radio. I listen on 987thefan.com since I don't live locally anymore.
  19. But he'd just be sitting on the b......ohhhhhh I can only imagine the signs at RayJay if we have a rough season and Bench is QB1 and struggling.
