  1. Bulls handled Charlotte pretty easily today and play them again on Sunday, looking for win No. 13. Good job. Progress continues.
  2. I have zero idea what this team will look like - just like football was a month and a half ago - and I guess that creates some excitement for what could be. It’s a hodgepodge of a roster, for sure. Will they gel and play together? The guys from Kennesaw probably give us a better chance at that. Would love to see Corey Walker live up to his potential and Selton Miguel be able to go to his left. Cautiously optimistic again, but it feels like this is the year we get the entire athletic program heading back in the right direction. So far, the fall has shown that - with the exception of men’s soccer.
  3. Yep, big guys are the No. 1 priority - then some guys with wiggle at RB and WR, and throw in a DE or OLB who can really rush the passer and a corner who can cover one-on-one.
  4. Can’t take this too seriously, but if it did play out it would be a dream scenario and EVERYONE would need to write a nice thank you note to Judy Genshaft.
  5. And they just extended Gus through 2027 and gave him a raise. He’s won nothing of consequence there - decent records while beating up on overmatched teams.
  6. Here it is: We beat FAU, Temple and Charlotte - lose to Memphis - and split with UConn/UTSA to finish 7-5. It exceeds everyone’s expectations and sets us up for a promising 2024 and beyond. GO BULLS!
  7. Oviedo, Cincy and Houston = 0-7 so far in the Big XII. BYU (1-1) is the only newcomer with a league win.
  8. Swept by Wichita. We are what we think we are - improved, but not a contender yet.
  9. As Trip said, they’ve taken care of business against the bottom feeders in the conference. Wichita on Sunday will show us a lot about whether or not they are for real. But credit where it’s due - beat the teams you’re supposed to beat and you can have a good season and start to build something.
  10. The fact that Joey Knight is continually harping on USF and Rays attendance seems to be making the case that he really doesn’t need his job. If there is no interest from fans, then I guess there’s no need for sportswriters to cover. Just need one guy to cover the Lightning and Bucs (but only when they’re winning).
  11. Didn’t have a good feeling about this one anyway and now that I know Matt Hill is one of the captains? Playing with fire. We’re doomed.
  12. If someone throws a bunch of NIL money at him, I guess it’s possible, but I don’t know about that.
  13. I’ve known Joey since the Tampa Tribune days - good dude and a real, legit journalist.
  14. Tampa General Hospital invests $4.4 million in new training lab for USF College of Nursing WWW.WUSF.ORG TGH is investing $4.4 million over six years to support the planning and implementation of the USF College of Nursing Simulation Lab.
  15. They are 21-11 under Gus with zero wins of any consequence - the most “prominent” of which was a bowl game win over UF with half of the Gators starters sitting out to save themselves for the NFL Draft.
  16. Here’s a little more: Volleyball swept UAB and is 4-1 in the AAC
  17. Their editorial response will be - it’s a significant event because it’s Oviedo’s first home game in the Big 12, and they are a “statewide” paper, not just a Tampa Bay paper. Seriously? C’mon, man. What?
  18. I thought long and hard about posting this, because we’ve been down this road so many times before, but: The TAMPA BAY Times staffs a game in Orlando . . . I have zero idea what they are trying to accomplish at that publication. Wonder if they’ll be sending a writer to Miami if the fins keep winning? And wonder how Bucs fans would react? When do you think we’ll see a writer from the Sentinel at RJS? UCF football suffers historic collapse to Baylor in Big 12 home debut WWW.TAMPABAY.COM The Knights allow 29 unanswered points in 18:20 to spoil a monumental day in Orlando.
