    I agree, we are finally headed the right way. Now, it’s gonna be all about talent acquisition. We need a lot more of it.

    I absolutely agree. But the pain comes when you know it was a more than winnable game and you still don’t. It’s usually hard to lose when you score 50. Eventually, you’re going to have to win. We score 50 vs. Memphis AND LOSE. We give up 17 to Bama AND LOSE. Quite honestly, it drives you mad after a while.

    We don’t need ANOTHER DC, we need better talent, especially in the secondary. Memphis knew it. That’s why they came out throwing and never stopped. There were downs when we only rushed three and guys were still running wide open. From Matt Hill and Christian Williams to the bunch we have now, not one of them has been capable in man coverage. Even when we get pressure, it doesn’t matter because someone is running so wide open it’s a completion. Think of all the playmakers we used to have in the secondary - Anthony Henry, J.R. Reed, Mike Jenkins, Trae Williams, Nate Allen, Kayvon Webster, Jerome Murphy, Mistral Raymond, Carlton Williams, Deatrick Nichols etc. We haven’t had one of that type in years.

    We’ve seen some bad ones, but this may be the worst defensive performance we’ve ever seen.

    Perfect game plan by Memphis. If you watch film on our defense, you throw it every down. Credit to their staff.

    Completely unprepared for that. We clearly felt they’d run it to start, they did the opposite and we were totally unprepared to adjust.
