  1. I completely disagree. As long as Gerry is unavailable, Brown is our best and only chance. He has no playmakers in his receiving corp.
  2. It’s going to be about consistency and getting better each week. If that happens, yes, we have a legit shot to win more than we lose at the end of the season.
  3. He was great, but, nah. Kawika vs. Oklahoma or J.R. Reed vs. Memphis.
  4. Great game plan and we looked like the USF defense I remember. Build on this one.
  5. D is playing well, but Bama has a QB problem so far. That guy’s not close with his throws.
  6. The Bucs did for years, then they started to win games. Funny how that changes things.
  7. Just thinking about this game makes me need to medicate. Everybody just stay healthy.
  8. Archie came in because Brown hurt his non-throwing hand on the one play and needed a minute to recover. Otherwise, you would not have seen Archie.
  9. I can’t say I knew much about our new “style” of offense coming into the season, but I am a bit surprised. We run plays fast, yes, but I guess I thought there was going to be more variation in the play calling, more wrinkles. It looks pretty standard to me, we just line up and snap the ball quicker. I’m not looking for a bunch of gadget plays, but this seems pretty vanilla and Byrum has made most of the bigger plays improvising on his own when that bad o-line breaks down every other snap. Everybody runs tempo now, so I guess I don’t see what’s so unique about Golesh’s take? Am I missing something?
  10. Maybe a couple I’d complain about, but for the most part, all of the calls were deserved. I hated the incomplete pass call on the FAMU QB on that one play - it was either a fumble or he was down for a sack. They bailed him out. There was no chance that was a pass attempt to anyone.
  11. So far, I’m good with Todd Orlando. He’s not afraid to bring pressure on most downs. We are giving up big yards in the passing game, but at least we’re attempting to mix it up and create some pressure - unlike the last two bozos who held the position.
  12. I think it’s pretty obvious that those five guys up front hold the key to our season. If they improve, we have a chance. If they don’t, we’re done and Byrum is on the shelf with an injury at some point.
  13. Not unless Gerry is the alternative. Bryce Archie does nothing for me and you’re not throwing Izzy Carter out there yet.
  14. Spit balling: I felt better about this team after the WKU game than yesterday. Amaris Brown is acting consistently like a punk. Offensive line will be an issue all season and so will pass coverage. Where did Byrum’s accuracy go? Sean Atkins may be our best offensive player. Run defense is our most improved unit. Depth is much better. Where has Logan Berryhill been all this time? We’re not playing well or disciplined, but we are finally playing with some energy and emotion. All things said, the American gives us a chance at some wins if we start playing better - the league is a shell of its former self.
  15. Keep working, bro! See you at RJS soon and we’ll hang in our luxury suite when we open that new stadium in 2026!
  16. Much love to you, E.T.! An original! Go Bulls!
  17. I was under the impression that UTSA might just be better than Houston this season, so that one doesn’t bother me.
  18. Ease up on that kid. Somebody block for him first, then judge him.
  19. Absolutely right, and that’s why I thought it was an odd hire at the time and we needed to go with a guy like Tom Herman instead of a first-time head coach. But we went the way we did and that comes with its own set of built-in “give the guy time” expectations. It’s where we are. It’s the same reason I thought we needed Mike Brey so badly - we don’t have time on our side. But we have what we have and we’ll keep pulling hard and find out.
  20. It’s not rational - at all. It’s a symptom of a starving fan base. I don’t agree with it, but I understand it. We’ve been beaten down. It’s no more rational than what the reaction would have been if Golesh had won his debut. He’d be Vince Lombardi today.
  21. My two biggest takeaways - the WKU QB may be the best we’ll see this year. He’s a legit gamer. And the offensive line is our main problem. Until that’s fixed, we got issues.
  22. Let’s just stop with the Byrum Brown stuff. Yes, he threw the pick in the end zone and he missed a wide open Atkins, but the fumble was a complete whiff on a block by the right tackle and he made something out of nothing all day with his legs - running for his life because of that really awful leaky offensive line. That’s where the blame needs to be placed. Brown took so many hits today, it was ridiculous. If you want to pin this loss on anyone or anything, it was that offensive line.
