  1. The change in the game would actually play right into what use to be the strength of our defense. We use to play one of the most dynamic offenses in the league (WVU) for several years and use to shut them down. We use to struggle with power run teams (Pitt/Rutgers) and shut down the spread/read option teams. Now we can't shut down anyone (power run or spread teams). I still think it falls back to the DL. We've lacked dynamic playmakers there for years. The only pressure we would get this year is during blitzes. Hopefully Bruce Hector and/or Love can turn into that next year. Get consistent pressure from the DL, and the whole defense changes.
  2. Year 2 will absolutely be a step back...hopefully the fan base realizes this. Even hoping that we have good backups to help fill in, you just don't lose talent like Flowers, Mack, and the Junkyard Dog (not to mention Adams who is gone after this year), and expect to stay at the same level. I guess the only hope is that he helps make huge strides on the defensive side by then that might mitigate some of the offensive drop off. I think year 3 is where we start to see how his recruits and "his" team truly starts looking.
  3. How do you come to the conclusion that running USF as HC is "waaaayyy more" work than Texas (or Louisville)? Texas, not only do you have to run the team as head coach, you have to pander and kiss butt to dozens upon dozens of egotistical boosters. So you have to not only be head coach, but politician too. You don't have that at USF at all.
  4. Wow, if he's trying to completely destroy any good will towards him from USF fans, this would do it.
  5. Wonder if they can work out a contract that pays him pennies the next 2 years to keep Texas on the hook, then a big increase in year 3/4. Something that might be an annual salary of 2 million/year but along the lines of $250K/250K/3.75M/3.75M....that way if he does bolt after 2-3 years of success, USF got a coach on the cheap (only having to pay for his time here) and he can continue to screw Texas for the next 2 years.
  6. I'm torn on the whole CRW thing. They lack of aggressiveness was very disappointing to see, but I also think there is a lack of talent on that side right now. There's not one single stand out on defense. No Selvie, no JPP, no Barrington, no Kayvon Webster, no Angry Bird. Auggie made a lot of tackles, but he's what I like to call a "down-hill" tackler (99% of his tackles seem to be after someone has gained 5+ yards and he tackles them with the runner moving downhill and gaining an extra yard or two). I mean I watched every game this year, and I'm not sure if I can name the starting DL with how infrequently their names were called in each game. Someone on that defense needs to elevate their game. Someone on that DL needs to become a force, a game disrupter. I'm not sure who on the roster thats going to be, but prefer not to have to stress through 52-45 games next year because our defense can't stop anyone.
  7. I don't think their turnaround will necessarily be a whole bunch quicker than ours. Milton is not the right QB to lead them to conference titles, and they lose 7 starters on a defense that was largely responsible for helping them get to 6 wins this year. I don't think they take a step back next year, but I don't see them being much better than 6-6, maybe 7-5 next year. Won't be until Frost gets the right QB in there (maybe starting in 2018) that you'll see them make the big jump to competing for the conference championship.
  8. If anything, the AAC should have an outstanding bowl record, because if USF/Navy/Houston are going to be matched up with Vandy, Boston College, NC State, etc.... we should dominate those games
  9. I can't believe Taggart may actually owe Woodie the win in this game.
  10. Sooooo conservative today. Its like we've completely forgot what has worked for us all year long. Flowers misses a few deep passes, and we completely abandon the passing game.
  11. If we lose this game, its all on Taggart today. Horrible play selection all day.
  12. Screw that....let that school rot in the bottom of the B1G for the next 3 decades
  13. I'm still at a loss for how you can vote LSU top 25. What are people seeing? They are 6-4 and here are their 6 wins: FCS Jacksonville St 4-7 Miss St 3-8 Mizzou 5-6 Southern Miss 5-6 Ole Miss 7-4 Arkansas What there warrants a ranking?
  14. Even without him JK being wrong, why is that a major deciding factor? UF has a loss to #24 Tenn and an unranked team, while Houston has a loss #28 Navy (technically unranked) and an unranked team. They're getting punished because of the bias (Navy should be ranked). And what 2 loss teams can match the quality of Houston's wins?
  15. Houston V UF Navy v Tenn Tulsa v Ga Memphis v Kentucky Probably true as I see the AAC winning atleast 2 of those matchups
  16. The bias is unfortunately strong in the polls. Houston has a real gripe. Same record as Oklahoma, same amount of wins against above .500 teams, but Houston has a top 25 win (against Oklahoma), while Oklahoma has zero top 25 wins. One is ranked in the top 10, and one isn't even in the top 25. Just digging into some of these teams actual schedule gets you a little steaming. LSU is top 20 despite 3 losses and only 1 victory over a team with a winning record (and zero wins against current top 25).
  17. Louisville has played only 2 teams with a winning record. Lets not act like the schedule difference is all that much.
  18. To quick for an expansion vote. They've likely been bought out by ESPN/Fox to sit at 10.
  19. And you can bet the non-Texas schools for sure don't want Houston.
  20. Not much difference between 4 or 5. If 3 AAC schools are taken and we aren't one of them, I'm not going to find much solace in the fact that UCF is banished to the new CUSA with us for all of eternity.
  21. No they wouldn't. That's only 2 losses. We lose to them next week and then drop one game to Memphis/Navy, then they hold the tie-breaker and take the division. No matter what they do this weekend, we need to beat them next week to eliminate them (because we give them 2 conf losses, and hold the tie-breaker on them). Much prefer Temple wins and UCF loses and crushes any momentum they feel they have after beating a ECU team in a bit of a tailspin. Plus a UCF loss puts them at 3-3 and forces almost a must win road game at UConn for them (as they have a virtually guaranteed loss to Houston that following week). A 3 game losing streak and a 3-5 record for them would be devastating to a team trying to rebuild from last years team that completely gave up the entire second half of the season.
  22. Yeah, that would be clever if I stated we might lose any of those games. I stated those would be our most difficult, but still called for us going 10-2 at worst. But please preach on from your drunk high horse.
  23. Ive stated elsewhere....Cincy is the game that scares me the most...win or lose vs FSU. Huge revenge game for them....on the road...after a huge emotional game for us at home. If we win that game...I think the division is in the bag for us.
  24. We put up 14 pts on FSU in the first 5 min. The fact that our defense completely rolled over in the entire first half( first 4 possesions were TDs) is what lost us the game. The fact you can't admit that...well you've been a QF hater since day 1...so what else is there to say....QF and our 2007 or 2009 defense in this game and the game is over by half time....sadly we have 2013 level defense
