  1. That's pretty much what happened for the last one in Dallas. Just can't seem to buy a bucket when they need one.
  2. Actually went to look up what the qualifiers for the NY6 Bowls were and it looks like this: "Rose Bowl — Big Ten #1 vs. Pac-12 #1 Sugar Bowl — SEC #1 vs. Big 12 #1 Orange Bowl — ACC #1 vs. SEC #2, Big Ten #2, or Notre Dame Cotton Bowl — at-large or "Group of Five" (committee selection) Fiesta Bowl — at-large or "Group of Five" (committee selection) Peach Bowl — at-large or "Group of Five" (committee selection) The highest-ranked champion from the "Group of Five" conferences (The American, C-USA, Mid-American, Mountain West, and Sun Belt) is guaranteed a berth if the group's top team is not in the playoff. The remaining five at-large bids are determined by committee rankings." So it appears. At least in theory, that multiple G5 teams could go to NY6 bowls in those at large spots if they were ranked high enough and chosen by the committee that way, but in actuality that would be a tall order. I imagine both teams would have to start the year in the top 25 and proceed to either go undefeated or close to it. UH with one loss was only able to climb to #18? But interesting to see it's technically possible.
  3. I believe there is only one G5 qualifier and the rest of the at-large bids go to the other conferences.
  4. We were out Whitehurst and Harris for that game due to suspension (team rules.) We also lost Auggie for a half because of targeting. DC4 just tore us up and that was with the FSU offense sandbagging. I'm concerned in that category, too. Although curious what would've happened if we had any semblance of an offense going into that game. Houston set up a pretty good blueprint.... But that defense next year is gonna be crazy good.
  5. How much of that was his playmaking ability as a pass catcher vs the scheme as a TE? Price was reliable for sure. Hoping we get some good things out of the Tarpon Speings grad.
  6. They really got the guys they wanted. The only thing that was disappointing was losing both OT Stover and Smith in the last week. Guys like Polk, Saloman, Dunn and Watts can compete right away. Really excited about Saloman.
  7. Clearly worked with flying colors against the spread offenses of the American, like Tom Allen wanted. We have he playmakers to make it happen and it's the system the guys all bought into. Think it's great for the personnel and looking forward to seeing what CRW can do with it. Curious if Jancek has any experience with it though.
  8. I'm curious to how many drops there were too in that completion percentage. QF is a gamer and is willing to put the team on his back. The staff will have competition at every position like they do every year and we will see what happens, but it's great to see any recognition for the players and the program in any article.
  9. Have some time to renew but I will for sure. Also, 7 home games this year?
  10. I used to read Word Up Magazine. oh wait. I'm so excited for tomorrow, could be one of the more memorable NSD's in years. That WVU game though...
  11. Heard that too; and makes a lot of sense. They were saying when healthy this is possibly CJF's best team top to bottom. It's great seeing other contributors and getting them early reps.
  12. Have to spend money to make money, especially when the program isn't even old enough to drink and has to play catch up with the big dawgs.
  13. Horror has never been so horrifying. That one still gets me to this day. What does one do!?
  14. This this 100% this. Tampa is filled with Noles and Gatas relocated and USF needs to put forth the extra effort to show the city what it's hometown University can do, both academically and athletically. Love the Team Tampa mantra and what it means. I just want to walk into any store around the University and not have to fish thru FSU and UF memorabilia to find the "basic" USF stuff. I know it'll be a long time before that happens, but love seeing the players and head coach manning a float and chucking some beads, if they are fans or not.
  15. This. And with the interior line looking to build on last year he could have his chance as a starter right away.
  16. How about Amalie Arena? Come into our house, you have to play Arena Style.
  17. And USF realignment "articles" "tweets" "etc," Well I suppose they aren't new, just the same thread that dates back to when I was still in undergrad.
  18. Convenient to work on campus and then walk to the sundome! Have they done this in years past?
  19. And golf too! And maybe baseball can turn it around for the long haul, too. Last spring was great for the department.
  20. Does the football program and university being so young have anything to do with it? That's something to research, who is the youngest university, and football program, to be a member of a P5 conference?
  21. I'm ok staying in-house. I'm more surprised how quick the promotion came; almost as if they expected CTA to leave and knew exactly what their move was going to be. I like Woodie a lot and the players seem to love him so let's see what he can do with the groundwork already laid. My only fear is he followed CWT to USF; so if CWT leaves for another program does he follow him again? I can't shake this feeling that this will perpetually be our ceiling because of the lack of continuity in staffs. We have a positive year, someone gets snatched up and then we don't meet expectations because of it. I BULLieve though! Too much talent on this team and in the area to think otherwise!
  22. That's still above average in the nation and I'll definitely take it for how the year could've been after the Maryland game. Now the coaching staff knows what works and have an entire offseason to build off of that. Have a good opportunity to continue this upward trajectory! I'm actually looking forward to the Spring game, should be a lot of fun to see where the offense stands vs a defense that is built to defend it.
  23. This. All of this deregulation just opened the door for conferences to make up the rules as they go and change them annually based off the key words that the committee uses. The conference isn't even sure how #1 and #2 will be seeded, they just want to make sure that "#2" doesn't have a chance to unseat the "#1" from the playoff. Honestly I'm not upset that expansion isn't being forced at this time; the AAC has proved it can play with the big boys and now can excel moving forward. I just hate how the rules keep changing in the CFB landscape every year. That and a round-robin conference getting a guaranteed rematch championship game. how ridiculous would it be if the same matchup for the championship was the final game of the regular season? Would we really see two teams play each other twice I two weeks?
  24. Marvin Kloss and yeah that was aweome. Really pulled for him to make an NFL roster.
  25. No media confirmation and just mere speculation. Apologies guys, need to do a better job of not jumping at everything I here when it's not confirmed. Wishful thinking mostly!
