  1. I hate when we lose. I REALLY hate when we lose like that. Not only does it hurt, but I know I'll have to come here and wallow in the cesspool of misery. He is learning on the job, it sucks, but we'll be better next year. That, and I still think we'll beat the knights, and that win will make all of this hurt a little less. We're not as bad as yesterday's performance.
  2. I wish lack of passion was the reason. I think we simply aren't talented enough to overlook an opponent. I appreciate coach Levitt, but I really believe some of you all long for him like people long for their first love. It was sweet because it was new, it wasn't meant to be though. He wasn't the only coach for us, those weren't the last of our good days, it was perfect for what it was. The college landscape has changed so much since then. We, have changed so much since then. We'll always have the memories though, isn't that enough??? Our young team is learning some valuable lessons. They hurt, just as much as our first heartbreak, but they make us better in the long run. I bet we won't look over another team again.
  3. My only push back to this is the injuries argument. 2nd and 3rd string are that for a reason. I don't care how good you are at your job, if you're trying to mitigate your glaring weaknesses as opposed to taking advantage of the opposing team's weaknesses week in and week out, it's not going to look good. We aren't skilled enough to play the 'next man up' all season. I'd go out on a limb and say they are outperforming their situation all things considered. They can't destroy morale by coming out and saying our defenders at the bottom of the barrel suck, but they've said it time and time again. Plus I'd take continuity over change for the sake of change any day.
  4. Hearing Spencer defend himself and shine light on what's happening with the defense helps offer clarity. I'm willing to offer mercy on my end.
  5. She's allowed to call my manager. I wouldn't even be mad Lmao
  6. Did Willie Taggart hurt you this bad? He turned our program around and left us with plenty to work with. He inherited nothing and left us with some of our best football. I'd take him back in a heart beat.
  7. https://footballscoop.com/news/ncaa-south-florida-suspends-charlie-strong How can we have had all of these extra coaches and still tend downwards???
  8. You come off like an ill informed hater. The band sounded strong, the sets were clean enough, and the concept was sound. What is your specific critique aside from thinking it was corny?
  9. I know when I was there many moons ago they would mic the band from time to time. There's a possibility that it was live, band sounded great on TV for what it's worth.
  10. I can actually visit the site and it not make my depression worse lol We beat somebody!!!
  11. I like not trailing going into the half. I like the fact that our offense seems to have life again. I like how our defense (one play excluded) seems capable.
  12. I'll save you a Google search. Houston scored 14 in the 4th making the final score 40 - 22 Houston over Tulane.
  13. Don't you dare use pretty black women to force me to read your posts lol
  14. I wanted us to win but I did not expect it. I hate the fact that it felt like we could win several times over, yet we ended up losing the way we did. The opportunities to win were there, I never felt like we were completely outmatched. Poor execution and questionable play calling at times put this one out of reach late.
  15. I feel like we have a shot every time. We're just not executing. But watch out because when we do...
  16. I'm curious, what more would you want from him? He literally put the team on his back and willed us back to life. He rarely put the ball in danger and he threw some amazing passes. I haven't felt that confident in a QB's ability to make a play since the great Quinton Flowers was under center. 17-24 with 186 passing with some solid run plays in there to keep the drives alive.
  17. I think it's one of those things where you're a genius if it works and an idiot if it didn't. The onside kick gave us a chance to get our offense back on the field knowing that our defense couldn't. We didn't have any timeouts so there was no way to stop the clock and field position was a moot point with us down 8. I also like to say that conventional wisdom wouldn't lead anyone to suspect an onside kick, it was a high risk high reward type of gamble that didn't pay off.
  18. Let the second coming of "Q" do what he do. I was pleasantly surprised by his level of play today, I can only imagine what he'll do as he progresses.
  19. So how about the fight in this team!?!? They aren't nearly as bad as the record suggests. It's just going to take a little more time and a more forgiving schedule. Coach strong started out with the softest schedule with Taggart's stud filled team, while coach Jeff Scott was afforded no such luck. I can say we are moving in the right direction without a doubt.
  20. I feel like you all don't truly remember just how bad we were during the back end of Charlie Strong's tenure. We seem like we are a few plays away. This team has fight in them and that fighting spirit goes a long way. That change in mentality was one of the first things I remember changing under Taggart before the W and L columns started righting themselves. I don't like the score but I like watching this team play. Offense has some exciting elements and the defense shows flashes of potential. Just have to get away from the busted plays and mental lapses. We aren't talented enough to make mistakes and win against a good team just yet.
  21. Yes, for as much as people say we can't beat a high school team, I started to believe it. We CAN beat somebody. And after rewatching the game we actually looked competent the entire time.
  22. We put up a decent half against the gators. If we come out executing like we did last night it'll be a fun game to watch. As for the quarterback thing, I felt the same way after BJ Daniels, then we seen flashes of greatness with Q and then boom, the rest is history. I see a whole lot of upside with McClain, he's exciting, and he throws a really good ball. I'm willing to tune in just to see what he is capable of and the growth he makes. I feel like we have found our guy and just like any mobile quarterback he'll learn when to take the hit and when to throw it away or slide.
  23. I'd also like to say FAMU has grown as a football program since the last time we played them. I enjoyed the game and proud that we are finding our identity.
  24. Since FAU scored and the box score wasn't really as lopsided as I'd expect. Is Florida not really FLORIDA this year or is FAU that much better than expected?
  25. Anything is possible. We were out of our league and luck was not on our side. As soon as that ball popped in the air and NC State still got something positive out of it, I knew what type of night it was going to be.
