  1. Either you're successful and you're the hero or you miss and get burned on the play and become the villain. - batman-ish
  2. We know that we're building confidence with GB. We've experienced the results of them throwing with us looking around our own endzone. Then you all would talk about how he's prone to throwing pick 6's.
  3. I would fear the same thing that I wouldn't want to admit with CWT, and that's what if the magic window has passed? What if the coach you got back paled in comparison to your memory of them? I have used the romanticized 'first love' analogy before. I think it fits here still. In your memory not many things will live up to that feeling of your first true love. The circle back is typically only a good idea when going down memory lane. In my experience, people rarely live up to our memories of them. And life experience and wisdom give you a new set of eyes to see flaws and shortcomings you didn't notice the first time around, ultimately souring the memories and making you question if it really was that magical to begin with.
  4. My two favorite snippets were his view of Florida State's potential woes and his omission of talking up UCF. Very complementary of SMU and their skilled players though.
  5. Nostalgia is fun. I went to school 06-12 so I got a chance to have some really nice moments with his teams. That was an insightful interview. I think it's one of those things that you get out of it what you want to. He was very respectful and straightforward with his observations of the state of Florida and it's football programs.
  6. I swear some of you don't remember just how much the team quit at the end of CCS tenure. Seriously, go back and watch the team. It was REALLY REALLY bad... I'm not happy right now. Losing gets old and losing the way we have, has been disheartening. But it's not a problem with the player's will to win or fight. It's also not a problem with the culture. I saw a tweet from Gerry Bohanon, that referenced fans quitting on the team, and I truly hurt for them. Can you imagine what it feels like to give your all in practice and in class, only to have to battle against your fan base and the opponent come game day? That mixed with the self-doubt and the disappointment you feel from your best not quite being good enough? These scores, as terrible as they are, represent teams taking advantage of missed assignments or mental lapses. That's really it. Talent level is equal when you compare our 1's to their 1's(which is a win), our team has heart (which is a win), now we need to play a complete game start to finish. Unfortunately, the closest we've gotten to that is the UF game so far. TLDR: There are legitimate positives in the culture that haven't translated to wins yet. See CCS's final season and watch the fight leave the players as an example of a toxic culture.
  7. I would love for a coach to come in, have success, stack the cupboard, and then get hired away.
  8. I'd take CWT back in a heartbeat but it would suck to be forced to play some sort of cleanup twice at the same school.
  9. That and McClain had 1 game where I was impressed and that was against his new team. I was rooting for him but he felt like a liability most of the time. GB doesn't make me feel that way even if there are interceptions and such. Kinda like BJ Daniels, I feel like he can always will us to victory.
  10. It's weird watching. We don't seem like we aren't hustling. We're simply being outplayed/ muscled/ schemed... I don't feel like we suck but the scoreboard says otherwise.
