  1. Yep. We're #17, UCF #18.There's a reason they are moving up faster than we are.
  2. No chance that happens. Even if it did, they'd still be watching the CCG from home.
  3. 34-28 was the final, and there was plenty of danger for us at the end of that game. If Tice doesn't get that first down, who knows what might have happened. UCF beat a better team by a slightly bigger margin. We play them in a few weeks anyway.
  4. Sure didn't look like it, but we put up 500 yards of offense tonight. We've done that in sort of ugly fashion more than once this year.
  5. MVS is averaging 4 catches per game, everyone else is averaging less than 2 catches per game. QF is barely above 50% completion percentage on the year. Sooner or later, this will cost us.
  6. QF: 10-24 127 yards 2TDs 1 IN Looked wildly out of sync most of the time. There were a few occasions where Q had a lot of time to throw, and wound up taking off running or throwing it away. Seen this several times this season. Can't tell if the receivers aren't getting open....or if Q just isn't finding them? Most though we had a pretty good group of WRs coming in to the season. It's definitely not being reflected in their numbers. We will need to be firing on all cylinders at some point to win this conference. Any thoughts what exactly the problem is here? Also, does the coaching staff have any issue with McCants weight? Seems he could/should be about 20 pounds lighter.
  7. 7-0 is the bottom line. Hopefully we come out better against Houston. We will need it.
  8. A few blown coverages by them on defense, but Navy is a difficult offense that they'll only see once a year. Kind of like facing a knuckle-baller. Their two running backs look really good. Not saying we'll lose to them, but I think most college football fans outside of this blog would say that UCF looks better. But again, things will be settled on Black Friday. I'm not real comfortable with that match up though.
  9. UCF definitely looks better. Much more creative on offense, speed and talent across the board, and just seem to execute better. Part of it might be due to them being in their second year under their coaching staff, as opposed to our first. That play call to Tice with under two minutes left was one I don't recall seeing much this year. Gives me hope that there is something more to this offense than what we've seen so far. There better be, because we won't win at UCF with the vanilla play calling.
  10. This is very concerning. Tulane playing smart, QF looking VERY out of synch throwing the ball
  11. For sure. As it stands though, every pass looks like a HB pass. Floating, slightly wobbly....
  12. Anybody think we could lose to Tulane, then win out from there, and still get the NY6 bid? We'd still have a potential top 15 UCF team on our resume, and maybe a ranked Western Division AAC team in the CCG. FWIW, I think we'll stomp Tulane, but just curious about that scenario.
  13. Absolutely. What happens on Black Friday will be the difference between us being in an NY6 bowl, or playing FIU in the St. Pete Bowl. What happens with Temple, or ECU, or SJSU, etc.... has no bearing on anything.
  14. I think Maryland is a little better than Illinois, and Memphis is definitely better than anyone we've played, and UCF crushed them. UCF has been playing better than us. We had the preseason ranking, but they are closing in on us. Doesn't really matter though. This argument will be settled on the field on Black Friday. Hope Gilbert is saving something for that game.
  15. Understood. Our defense has done pretty well against the run though, so hopefully we're able to stuff their run. We shall see.
  16. I'm sure they'll review film of the Tulane-Tulsa game as well. That was the Tulane offense at it's best. I doubt they are looking past Tulane. They know that this type of offense is one they haven't seen yet, and CCS will have them ready for it. I don't take any of these teams for granted, but UCF is the only team on the schedule I'm worried about.
  17. Them losing 23-10 to FIU takes a lot of the fear out of playing Tulane
  18. They just lost to FIU. However, they blew out Tulsa, who blew out Houston. You never know.
  19. Agreed. The 2007 team beat Auburn, and a #5 West Virginia team. We haven't beaten anybody yet. The real measuring stick for this year's team will be UCF. That's where we will see what this team is really made of. Houston was just blown out by Tulsa, so not sure they're much of a test.
  20. Interesting back & forth on this board as well... https://247sports.com/college/west-virginia/Board/105475/Contents/Time-for-Big-12-to-reconsider-adding-USF-and-UCF-108732375
