Hopefully you share my excitement over 2018. We have 4 great QBs, a lot of great receiving talent, running backs, tight ends, and good o-line. Yes, we lose a ton of seniors, but we have the same amount of juniors who will be seniors next year so we will still have leadership. On defense we lose a lot, but the Kelvin BoyZ came in and did great (as I predicted) at DT and should hold the fort down this year. We also have transfers and a crap load of hungry talent ready for the expanded role. Maybe Marlon Gonzales might even wake up and play to his potential. I have absolute faith that we will win 10 games again this year if not more. Yea we lose Flowers, but just remember, Peyton Manning didn’t take Tennessee to the promise land, Tee Martin did. Manning is still a waaaay better QB, but Tee martin got Tennessee a championship. I feel if we don’t go to the NY6 bowl, then we will go to the liberty bowl. Best chance at a magical season will be 2019. That will be Kean or O’s 2nd year as a starter and a strength of schedule that includes GT and Wisconsin. I love the recruits we have coming in, I love our coaching staff (well except for Gilbert, but hopefully he proves me wrong) and look forward to these next 3-4 years. For all of you that state you don’t care about the rest of the AAC, well if Memphis, UCF, Houston, and Navy play well and stay ranked then we will always have ranked opponents. I’m hoping Tulane, Temple, SMU, Cinci, UCONN and Tulsa can dominate their out of conference and at least have a winning record. The league as a whole will be more respected and yes, while we are a part of the AAC i shall have some conference pride. Last year is done, time to quit whining/crying and think positive. 2018 is a new year, new players, and a new mission. You should always look at life as a glass half full, and when it comes to USF My green and gold goggle shall stay on and see the USF chalice as a glass fully full😊 for those doubters, just remember this post. Geaux Bulls! 3
tampatony Posted January 2, 2018 Group: Member Topic Count: 5 Content Count: 645 Reputation: 50 Days Won: 1 Joined: 03/09/2010 Share Posted January 2, 2018 I'm excited about next year for the AAC because it's the year prior to our negotiation window with ESPN. If our league turns out like it did this year, 3-4 top 25 teams, 6-8 bowl eligible teams, and respectable OOC and P5 bowl wins we should be in a pretty good place for renegotiation. USF looks like it will be in a transition year but a transition year for USF now is bowl eligible and possible double digit wins.. That is an amazing privilege for any university and speaks to the depth that Tags and Strong recruiting. I'm excited to see what our defense looks like next year under J-M and Strong with our D-line recruits from last year and this year. The offense will look a lot different next year. I think it will look a lot more like the Veer and Shoot you see at schools in the Big 12. Lots of mid level passes and down hill running up the middle.. Hopefully not as much HB Dive as this year. I think Gilbert's trust in Flowers' accuracy waned at times and depended on the run to play it safe. Hopefully he trust O and Kean a little more this year in regards to their accuracy down the field. Hopefully depth on the O-line is there to provide them with time too. They won't have Flowers back there to save them when the pocket breaks down. I know O is fast but we can't hope for him to be as shifty as Flowers is. I'm ready for the Feb signing period and spring training I can tell you that!

If we don’t have a network or on line provider (and I don’t think they are going to be a tier 1 rights option) for leverage, espn could just low ball us (even with decent tv numbers...which is still questionable throughout the league). USFvsFSU could be the 2018 Gasparilla Bowl match up.
