TAMPA, MARCH 2, 2017 – The University of South Florida women’s basketball team continues to raise the bar, and the program did it again on Thursday when The American announced All-Conference teams and awards. Four Bulls were recognized and for the first time in program history, two landed on the All-Conference First Team.

As predicted by the coaches in the preseason, sophomore Kitija Laksa (Riga, Latvia) was a unanimous All-Conference First Team selection, while junior Maria Jespersen (Arhus, Denmark) earned her first postseason conference award as a first-team honoree. Jespersen turned in a stellar junior campaign, becoming an unstoppable force in league play, and recognized as The American’s Most Improved Player of the Year.  In her first season with the Bulls, rookie Tamara Henshaw (Palm Coast, Fla.) landed on the All-Freshman team by a unanimous decision.

I'm confused. The article says four Bulls, but only describes three - Laksa, Jespersen, and Henshaw. Who's the 4th?

Booyah! Congrats Tamara.

Closing out the season with an AAC Tourney win would be some nice icing for that cake!!!
