I saw U2 in the Old Sombrero back in the '80s

 

Must have been after I left in '86

 

The concerts I remember from Tampa Stadium (even before they closed the endzones)  were Clapton+Santana, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Allman Brothers. I'm sure I went a bunch more times, but who remembers the 70's wasn't actually there...

 

 

Only concert I remember going to at the Ol Sombrero was Rod Stewart/Faces and Free .... There had to have been more.

usf had plenty of great bands on campus in the 70s

 

Chicago/beach boys/Fleetwood mac/eagles were all over tampa/Orlando back than

 

the outlaws played tampa alot
