On Saturday the defense was less than spectacular, and except for a few big plays, the offense sputtered - but the Bulls Won. Because one member of the team stepped up, and carried the rest of them to the victory.

When the team needed it, someone reached deep down inside and found what it took.  This week it was a running back - next week it may be someone else.  The sun don't shine on the same dog's ass every day.  All it takes to have a winning season is for at least one player each week to want it bad enough that he brings the team along with him.

That's team football.  That's what Coach Taggert understands.

Memphis and Mid Tenn State put 60 burgers on their cupcakes. No excuse for USF to look like it is playing against Alabama instead of WCU.

dot

there is only so much you can learn, practicing against the same guys day in and day out

It's why we pay these small teams a half-million plus, to come let us beat on them.

It's so we don't lose our opener, and see what problems we have to work on during practice

Special teams was decent, defense was fast, just not too aggressive. They seemed to be trying too hard, not to give up the big plays. I know the screen passes just ate us alive

But Mack truly stepped it up. That player wanted that win badly

I agree. We looked like crap. Keep playing like we did Saturday, this team is likely not good for more than 3-4 wins max.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. But to me, things look the same as last year, just bad execution at so many spots.

I know the coaching staff knows that, now to (hopefully) straighten it out. Saturday's team isn't a 2-10 D-IAA team.

Like the title of this thread reads, we got a W and that is a good thing!

Enjoy it...Don't Worry, Be Happy!!

If anything, we made adjustments. That is something that seemed to be an issue the last two year.  The offensive minds saw that we could drive a Mack truck ( :roflmao: ) through the holes and kept feeding him.  White made a few decent throws in the 2nd half and their D had to respect it.

Some of you still need to see we will go through some growing pains, we did and we pulled out a win.  I wasn't happy with some of the play and thought the score should have been more appealling, but it is what it is.  Last year we didn't win...so see improvment.
