Terrible deal for the Rays.

Gave up the best pitcher for peanuts.

At first look, not too thrilled with it either. Looks more like one they would have made next year as a kind of last resort type deal. I guess only time will tell ....

Even with Price the Rays were a long shot to make the playoffs, but with the way they have been playing and what they got in return, one thing is clear: Sternberg cares more about money than winning. As if the money he has made isn't good enough, he now feels entitled to a new stadium from the city.

It would be one thing if they were able to get some top-tier prospects or an offensive star. It's laughable to think they could build a team around a below average infielder, ok pitcher, and an unproven 18 year old. They already have plenty of mediocre infielders in their farm system. What is the status on Mr. #1 pick? Will he ever be a major leaguer?

The Rays get no immediate improvement and little hope for the future

That Tigers rotation is sick.  Price, Verlander and Scherzer.  3 Cy Young winners.  Also Anibal Sanchez is no slouch either.

The return the Rays got is a joke.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
