Completely unacceptable. The amount of talent in the Tampa Bay area alone and being in Florida should make USF a dangerous baseball team every year. I lost hope a long time ago with that. While I was at school I went to a few games losing to Eastern Michigan and that was it for me. Need another coach in there.

 

I know man, I mean, we have beaches, great weather, Publix, women sunbathing nearly nude on every corner at USF.  This should be a hotbed of talent for baseball.  Baseball guys dig that stuff.

 

Did I mention beaches and great weather?

I did a little amateur digging because I knew it had been awhile since USF made the postseason in baseball, but I had nothing to compare it to. I looked up the last time that various Florida baseball programs made the postseason and here is what I found: (please correct me if i'm wrong)

 

1.) Miami - 41 consecutive years in NCAA regional

2.) FSU - last regional: 2013

3.) UF - last regional (college world series) 2012

4.) FAU - last regional 2013

5.) Bethune Cookman - last regional 2012

6.) FIU - last regional 2011

7.) Jacksonville - last regional 2011

8.) Stetson - last regional 2011 (7 in last 10 years)

9.) Tampa - D2 Super regionals 2013

10.) North Florida - D2 championship series 2005

11.) UCF - last regional 2004

12.) USF- last regional 2002

13.) FAMU - I couldn't find any evidence of success from this school

 

What gives?

It all started with the firing of Leavitt! She messed that up. Now she needs to get USF out of this mess. I have a feeling she will but we just have to ride out these next few years. I then see USF rising from the ashes!!!
