If he leaves, he'll be lucky to be drafted in the first 5 rounds.  He really needs to be smart and stay in school one more year.

I have no problem with him putting his name in to the NCAA NFL draft committee for evaluation. I actually think getting feedback from NFL scouts would be beneficial for him and the team. He would learn what he needs to work on.

I don't see him being anywhere near ready for the draft. He has been a consistent receiver. As I have said many times, I just don't see him as a dynamic, playmaker.

Other than the long catch at Nevada, I really don't remember any dynamic plays he has made. He doesn't really show the ability to use his body to block DBs out on contested balls. I also don't see where defenses fear or respect him as someone they don't want to beat them. He doesn't draw double coverage. If he did that would help the other receivers out and/or open the run by needing to drop the safeties out of the box.

Davis is decent receiver. I think his #s have been the benefit of Andre being the good receiver on the field in this system. In the past our passing game would have a rotation of multiple guys getting a few catches each game.

Spot on.  He's not ready, IMO, but I do think the NFL assessment would help him understand that, and give him unfiltered feedback on areas of his game that he needs to improve.  That said, I'm sure D. Scott was told he wasn't ready, but he left...and I don't think he's playing anywhere.  Sometimes the kids just want out.  Not sure when Davis will graduate, but it'd be smart to get that free education while it's there.  The NFL ain't going away, and his stock could rise significantly with a monster year (and not that he cares, but if he stays, he'd likely wind up atop all career receiving records).

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
