Otherwise we are going to be so "F'd". The long term misery of being left behind while Cincy and UCF move on to better conferences will pale in comparison to our winless seasons.

winning won't necessarily get a program into a better conference

if it did, boise would have already moved.

There are so many factors... but you are right it will hurt us if we dont start winning.

We can lose anywhere. They might move us now on the theory it would be like playing a FCS school while getting credit for being an FBS program.

We need to focus on rebuilding and winning games first. I have no expectations of us getting into another conference anytime soon. If it happens great, but no expectations of that.

My point is I hope NOBODY gets called up to the Bigs for a while, because if that does happen our chances have been flushed down the toilet based on our performance these last 2 1/4 seasons Edited by Sellular1

Yeah, the more I think about I agree. There is institution and program age along with the amount spent on athletics that seems to factor in; almost like a good ole boys club. For instance UL spends double what USF does on football alone. Rutgers is the oldest football program, Pitt has NC, etc..

i think its a big mix of:

tv ratings

athletics expenditures

tradition

performance

location

if it was all on the field performance... Cinci/Boise would CERTAINLY be in a P5
