Due to the Manziel autograph scandal Charlie Strong will not allow UL players to sign autographs and will hold a scrimmage instead. The NCAA has advised that Manziel should not be started until they finish their investigation because wins with players later deemed ineligible will be vacated.

they're not canceling fan day, they're canceling the autograph portion of it

Because Louisville is canceling the autograph session at Football Fan Day, Strong said he will hold another open practice for fans to attend in preparation for its Sept. 1 opener against Ohio.

talk about a knee jerk reaction.

having your players sign autographs for fans at an OBVIOUS free event is perfectly legal by NCAA rules

maybe they could combine functions. Players could sign exposed body parts of strippers that Clint Hurtt arranges.. What a sham. `Strong acted all holier than thou when he hired Hurtt knowing full well all the monkey business that he engaged in at UM. Now he has him back on the playing field after NCAA has provided it's ruling. My guess is that Hurtt is prohibited from recruiting for a couple of years, and CS will hang on to him for dear life.

I just watched Charlie Strong day "we are canceling fan day and holding a scrimmage for the fans instead." On College Football Live in location at UL. So no interaction between fans and players but another Spring Game. Edited by slick1ru2

Well, there area lot of what appears to be some bulk signed bridgewater items on the market. Aggies went through at least a million records of the signature authentication agencies in a multiday data mining operation. I'm not sure if they will ever publish the results, but there a few very large batches of authenticated signatures for some other big names in college football, including Braxton Miller from Ohio State. The information is all public but you may need to work to compile the numbers the way the Aggies did. I wonder if the authentication companies would just give you the number of signatures they have authenticated for a particular player and the ID#s if you juat contacted them and asked. I expect the NCAA will try to get their hands on this.

Strong probably didn't like the autograph sessions.  This is similar to MLB stadium policies. Leveraging one situation to address another.

Where has it been reported that the NCAA advised Texas A&M not to play Manziel?
