The new system favors the QB or the RB?

We've not had a major runner since Andre Hall; he was our Barry Sanders and created a lot of stuff on his own.

And at the QB position, we've always had mobile QBs who were Mr. everything.

Okay, so now we have a new system.

(1) How's the running going to be different (as in more yards on the ground)?

(2) We keep hearing the QB position is more complicated with lots more plays. Our QB guys are all basically new to system. Any chance for real success?

So back to the topic title, do you think our QB position or RB position (with the players we have now) will have a greater chance for success this year?

I would think the SYSTEM favors the running back, but where the TALENT lies is still up in the air.

CWT yesterday said he wants a balanced attack, but we will be known as a power running team.

These questions were specifically asked yesterday and Taggert seemed passionate about our run game, but keen on balance.

He got excited about a power-I scenario, but talked about our TE's being very active in our offense.

On a side note, he did make a good point in saying that it is time to move on from what happened in the past, specifically last year.

Funny question: someone asked him if he knew how to manage the clock.

I believe his response to that was "must be an inside joke".  The place broke up.

A Grandma will know us as a power team.

In our case I would expect it to be more run oriented, at least until the QB situation is settled.  But for all of the talk about RBs in this system, some guy named Andruw Luck put up some decent numbers as a QB.  :)

I think the idea is to be balanced, but it would vary year to year based on the talent on the field.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
