Great read! And I do enjoy his perspective!

Good article and although the statistics bear out what the author is trying to convey, the SEC/ESPN alliance does have the upper hand.

I never looked at Florida's scheduling before, but I guess that is true...every game is a home game. Smart scheduling.

I also like the lottery idea...but it ain't gonna happen (but would make for some great football).

Great article.  I liked the part about the Big East/AAC being the "Zombie" conference that won't go down easy.  The problem is that with the new TV contracts, the revenue gap between the AAC and the pee 5 is almost insurmountable compared to what it used to be.

The only stats that matter are related to TV markets, viewership and advertising.

Also, look at the SEC and realize every member school was founded before 1900. The new kids on the block like USF and UCF, Boise st, just do not pull in as many viewers even if we have a better team. Realignment is more about how good your fan base is than your football team. As a fan I think the most we can do is to watch every game on television, and that is probably more important than how the team performs. TV is driving this stuff, not performance.

True, but winning drives TV. If we lose, nobody will watch us. If we won, they will.

So, let's win!

Sorted.

sounds alot like sour grapes

at the end of the day aac and usf are outside looking in

other big east teams were more appealable to the  big 5 conferences

rutgers is now a big ten team!!!!!!

usf stunk up the football field for years when we should have dominated it

our only hope is that  usf/orlando schools together(i-4 corridor) is too attractive to pass uo

this alliance would guarantee conference mates one trip to florida every year(who doesnt want that?)

Act like you’ve been there before. Turns out, for many of us, we haven’t been there before.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
