ajerseyguy reports that the league is currently looking in the Philly area and will look in Hartford, Memphis and Tampa while NBC Sports says that Mohegan Sun, a native American Indian casino in Conn. with a 12,000 seat arena is putting a package together. I thought that the schools were going to try and get this, USF wanted it, but it looks its going outside, to a facility in one of the member school's markets. Aresco said he wants to keep the initial venue small, as the conference has lost the big drawing Big East name and schools, to increase ticket demand.

Please no Palestra. Sitting on bleacher seats with ****** parking should not be an option. If I want that I can go to Fenway Park.

Looks like they have visited Palestra already.

Allegedly, Tampa is still in the hunt

Other sites up for consideration include Hartford, Tampa, Memphis, Cincinnati and Louisville. An announcement is expected in the next few weeks on which site will be the 2014 men's tourney host, although the women's and men's tournaments are both expected to move on a rotating basis.

Not sure of credibility as I have alse read that Cincy is not in the race to host in 2013-2014.

I wonder why Orlando wouldn't be in the picture?

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
