Willie no 54. No 2 in AAC behind departing Strong

Willie Taggart, USF

A rare find: a grinder and an Xs and Os guy. His passion is infectious, and he’s coaching where he grew up on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Watch how quickly the culture of losing turns, and how quickly the Bulls become a factor in recruiting the state of Florida.

So this same guy who ranks Taggart #2 in the AAC head coaching ranks decides to make an NCAA list and has THREE AAC Head Coaches ahead of Taggart?

Seems like a credible piece of work.  Nicely Done

Jesus, 2 losing seasons and it becomes a "culture of losing"? Tough crowd.

3-9 in the Big East for one season is the equivalent to finishing 6-6 for 4 years in any other BCS conference.

I just love that CWT places 6 slots ahead of Holgy on the national list.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

"For me, I never considered it that way (as a stepping stone), honestly. When I was offered the head job at South Florida, and I'm sincere about this, I never thought I would ever go anywhere."

    Jim Leavitt
