I present to you this week's softball poll.

http://www.usasoftball.com/folders.asp?uid=7248

Not too much of a drop considering we got rolled by #4 UT 11-0 and then lost to NC State 2-1 (note to everyone - Nevins had a no-hitter through five innings before the wheels fell off in the sixth inning of the UT game).

Do we participate in any sport or competition where we are not outranked by UF?  I hate those guys.  Can't even brag about softball to them because they outrank us there, too.

Good to see.

Surprised to see LoLa that high - are the Cajuns really that good?

And why are they throwing up horns?

Well at the beginning of the season we outranked Florida but due to our performance the past couple weeks they had jumped over us. No worries though we have a chance to over take them soon especially since we play them I believe next week.

Yes the Cajuns are that good. I saw them play last year in a tournament in Clearwater and they have power and speed. A very dominant team and I believe they were young as well, so they should have quite a few returning starters. The game against ULL this weekend will be an interesting test especially against another big time team in softball. As for the bull horns I have no idea.

Hey, at least we have bragging rights over them, since we beat them to go to the WCWS.  :)

They have the best hitting SS in the nation (Nerissa Myers) and their sophomore pitcher Jordan Wallace is a stud and potentially better than Sara Nevins (although I would give the edge to Nevins). Wallace won her first 23 games as a freshman last season, losing two on the season going 27-2 overall. Tough to find holes in their team. Their head coach did resign before the first game of the season due to pay issues with his assistants and the ULL athletic department being tight arses. However, the guy has a JD, so it's not like he was trying to enrich himself. Just my two cents. We have our work cut out for us.

We didn't play ULL last season. They lost to ASU in the super regional. Be happy we didn't play them and had Hofstra instead. ULL was the better team than us last year (they went 53-4 overall). We just ended up with a better draw after Hofstra unexpectedly advanced to the Super Regional. ULL was loaded with talent, but couldn't close out a great ASU team after winning the first game in the super regional. They had a girl named Ashley Brignac last season who was All-World when it comes to softball.

Good news is that right behind softball is soccer with almost as good a chance of a championship.  Gotta focus on the positives
