Brissett for 2 years equates to a red shirt year for White + other potential QB(s) and 1 year to be further mentored and be ready to start as a sophomore. Would give White and Woulard 3 starting years, potentially. E: if he can't win a transfer appeal, he would be pointless to pickup. We're better off getting JUCO that can play right away if not another freshman (like Woulard). I'ts extremely beneficial for a QB to redshirt his first year. Let the S&C coches get ahold of him, time to learn a new system, time to figure out that college wide open is not nearly as wide as high school wide open. With all of that said, kids want to play today, so it's a gamble.

That would also give both White and whomever we sign as QB a redshirt year PLUS two years on the bench. It would be a poor way to manage the talent we have coming in. Whether or not Brissett would fit better or White ends up being a great QB (or the other potential recruit) would be slightly irrelevant. Like you said Data, it would be silly to start a true freshman, then redshirt them for one year and bench them the next year. Especially if they're a good talent. We only really need him for one season, which would be next season, and he'd have to sit out anyway. So, we don't really need the guy. We could DEFINITELY use someone like him, some experience and most likely a better option than what we currently have, but we don't have a logical way to utilize him. jvwvu Posted January 6, 2013 Group: Member Topic Count: 7 Content Count: 820 Reputation: 5 Days Won: 0 Joined: 07/14/2011 Share Posted January 6, 2013 (edited) WVU is probably not an option as we are recruiting a Juco QB in Tanner McEvoy, had Brisset transferred last year WVU might be option but we need a new QB next year. I think Feldman is on to something. Jason Lieser â€@PBPjasonlieser A month or so ago there was a strong chance of QB Jacoby Brissett going to USF, but the Bulls' coaching change did not sit well with him. Unless they think Bridgewater will go pro after next year.

We are screwed if either one of our back ups end up our starting qb next year. It is a pointless move to make. They are not elite qb's with no room to grow as players. They are not mobile and for the future of the program do not help us. We land the top dual threat qb in the country and you better believe he would start as a freshman. We are SOOOOOOOOOOOO much better off struggling with a freshman qb to reap the benefits of learning the system and getting his mistakes out of the way when we virtually have no pressure. We won three games last year. We can win 6 if we improve on defense with a horrible offense again this year. Please lets stop talking about Eveld or Flloyd doing any kind of starting.
