The upgraded level of competition is what killed Skippy, IMO.

The number of BCS teams Skip beat while at ECU is greater than the conference wins he had here. It wasn't the "upgraded" level of competition ...

Ouch.

Maybe he was sent here by his evil masters at ESPN to destroy us?

Will we see Stanford success here? We aren't in a major conference nor offer a world class education from a prestigious school with rich tradition. This is not meant to be pessimistic but maybe we are more in line for WKU success. A annual conference champion contender with yearly bowls.

That is Stanford type success also ...

Let me be more specific because as time goes on the difference between the haves and have nots appears to be growing.

Even with a significant turnaround here, for the foreseeable future we are closer to pizza bowls than roses. The new Big East is closer to the SunBelt than PAC-12. There is a line dividing two unstable conferences that separates where we are and where we want to be. Its very difficult to compare anything to Stanford type success. Some of that changes if we get a golden ticket.

Bottom line ... this is one of those threads.

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”
