Just couldn't get it together at USF. Really didn't recruit as well as I had hoped also. Seems like the kind of guy who would make a great HS coach (and I say that without a hint of sarcasm).

Skip was a solid stand up guy. He just didn't get it all put together at USF. From his time at ECU there's definitely some coaching talent of some sort in there. He was truly successful at that program. Someone will pick him up eventually. Too be honest, I'd love to see him replace Pasqualoni at UConn. He was a stand up guy on the way out and I think he truly wanted another year. He thought he could eventually turn it around.

I wish him nothing but the best in the future, but at the same time I think it was his time to leave USF.

Excpet for the part where we actually beat him in a bowl game and then hired him. Other than that I agree...to a degree

Well that settles that. Any time we defeat someone, the other team must have a poor coach.

At this point, I would think Skip would go into TV for a while. Get $500,000 a year for 5 years from USF and make a name for yourself as an analyst.

His options as a coach right now aren't going to pay him much more than maybe $300,000 to $500,000 per season.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
