Yeah...Fire the son of a famous coach so you can hire the brother of a famous coach.

Please tell us what Mark Stoops has accomplished? What his resume look like?

*Not that Mark Stoops would have dropped everything to come to USF* but I'm really starting to feel that in the midst of a terrible season like we're having, that's it's not entirely the best thing to wait until the end of the season to make a coaching change ...

We could have fired Skip weeks ago and we wouldn't have had any better of a shot at someone like Stoops ...

I'm kind of surprised Stoops is going there where the potential for success doesn't seem quite as good as other openings ..... maybe he was looking for the challenge.

was discussing this with someone and could see Mike Stoops, formerly the Arizona coach, join him. Potential for Leavitt to be considered for the DC job? All the Stoops brothers are defense oriented, and Jim did work with Bob together under Bill Snyder years ago, so there's a tie-in. Would be kinda neat.

Props to UK on getting their coach though. Let him coach in the ACCCG and then bolt afterwards to start recruiting. He could poach some of his FSU assistants to bring to Lexington as well, and he'll surely have a few FL recruiting inroads.

UK knew it wasn't bringing in a big name guy, so they took the hardworking guy who hasn't had a shot yet. Similar to UL's hiring of Charlie Strong, they're hoping the young, energetic coach is appreciative of their shot at the head honcho gig and will produce results, also similar to James Franklin at Vanderbilt.

Why am I not surprised by that reaction?

Or to display his skills at a school not expected to be good, instead of failing like his brother did at Arizona, where expectations are a bit higher. If Mark goes 4-4 in the SEC East at UK and he'll be on everybody's short list the next season.

Please enlighten us with the proper choice. Knute Rockne, John McKay, Bud Wilkinson,....and from the living...Bobby Bowden, Tom Osbourne, Barry Switzer.....Who the F do you think we are? We're not exactly the pick of the litter.
