I love how so many say that Woolard wouldn't fire Skip because it would be an admission that they hired the wrong guy. Why do you think this? Has Woolard said or done anything to lead you to believe this? We can't fire him right now because of economics. I've hired people and then had to fire them. It's all part of being in a management position. Every hire is not going to turn out great and some turn out terrible.

I don't know what others base their opinion on, but I'm basing my opinion on the mentality of USF management... as a veteran of working for USF for the past decade I have seen managers, deans, and directors hire a person who turns out to be a big mistake, and then instead of getting rid of them they promote them... likewise I have seen managers, deans, and directors fire people that are excellent employees or lay them off.

The laws of common sense do not apply within USF.

Here's the copy requested and here's the email address I sent it off to ('bmcgillis@usf.edu')

As an alumnus of the University of South Florida, I feel it is my responsibility to express my frustration and disappointment with the current direction of our collegiate football program. Your alumni fan-base is quickly diminishing, many of whom will not be purchasing season tickets or making donations next year in protest. Mistakes have been made with the hiring of Skip Holtz and the rest of his coaching staff. Defensive Coordinator Chris Cosh should be notified immediately that his lack of performance has been noticed on a national level and, unless improvement is extremely evident in the very near future, he should begin to look for a new coaching job elsewhere. This program has been taken from a rising national name and football power, to an embarrassment of NCAA Division I athletics. Please do the right thing and place the pressure of success that all current students and alumni feel is needed upon this head coach and his staff. If nothing is done soon, this program will be lost for years to come. I thank you for taking the time to read about my concerns.

Respectfully,

William Hemberger

That is a lucid, intelligent, well thought-out objection.

It's just basic human nature and the predictable behavior of the incompetent, especially true in Academia.

You're kidding, right?? Did you skip over (get it??) this part?:

This program has been taken from a rising national name and football power, to an embarrassment of NCAA Division I athletics.

This one of the stupidest statements in all this meltdown this week but illustrates exactly the delusional quality of a portion of our fan base. In 12 games we've gone from a national football power to an embarrassment .... that is ******* hilarious.

Just trying to add a little levity. Don't read into too much. ;)

I was eluding to the last 3 years of USF Football, not the last 12 games. If you think losing to Ball State wasn't an embarassment last week, then you are the one that's delusional.

I am embarrassed for this team. No coach takes losing better than holtz in all of football.

Skip hasn't been here for 3 years of USF football. His first year here was status quo for the program, except we actually beat a BCS team in a bowl game. 12 games ago, we were 4-0, including a win at Notre Dame. Going back earlier than 12 games ago and you're sounding like a **** fool. I wasn't embarrassed, I didn't play .... as I fan, your letter was more of an embarrassment.

Someone's got a stick up their @ss. This program has been noticed on a national level now more than it ever has, especially since 2005, and it's been downhill the last few years. Skip is not helping. We can agree to disagree but that loss to Ball State was, in my opinion, an embarrassment to the program. We will see if you still feel the same after this season ends. You can take the last word on this if you wish, but I won't be commenting any further on the subject. We have both stated our opinions and are entitled to them.
