Glad he decided to stay home and make a big impact in a very short time.

And as the Bulls prepare for a national spotlight Thursday night with Rutgers in town and ESPN's audience tuning in, the Jefferson grad is proud to represent his hometown in a key Big East opener.

"It's awesome to be able to be from Tampa and to come to USF and be a part of something so big in Tampa," Davis said. "It means a lot to me, because I can come out here and do it for my hometown, my home city."

I've been eagerly, eagerly anticipating him breaking out. I was disappointed he didn't do it against UTC. Then go figure the next week I can't even watch the game and he finally has the breakout I knew was coming. Oh well.

The guy is a beast. I can't wait for D'Vario Montgomery to get up to speed eventually as well. I like him too. And that Dunkley guy ain't half-bad either.

Davis reminds me of a slower Mike Wallace. Not to say he's slow, he's just not Mike Wallace fast.

He didn't get caught up in all the hype around him in HS, when he earned the nickname "Freakshow," so I don't think he will now. He seems to be very well grounded.
