Manuel is a physical specimen. He has a strong arm, is a VERY good runner (different running style from BJ Daniels), and has a strong arm. What he has lacked is his decision making and his pre snap read abilities.

Sounds very much like our own B.J. Daniels, aside from the different running style you mentioned, which I agree about. I've always gotten a kick out of the name similarity too, as well as the fact that B.J. came to us out of Tally.

I would claim strength at every position on Defense with the exception of corner again. Kayvon Webster is going to have a good Senior season , but beyond that, we haven't been able to bring in a lot of talent at DB(unfathomable given recent recruiting successes at positions that lacked depth like WR and OL).

On offense our weakness begins under center. It isn't that BJ is not a great athlete, nor that he can't be an imposing force on offense. Problem is consistency. He seems to often be able to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. He has problems with game mgmt and backfield transitions. He has much better protection up front this year, which may help considerably, but his propensity for critical turnovers will be the fulcrum on which this years success balances.

Best improvement on Offense is clearly in the receiving corps. The OL is second. Our RB corps is solid but Fitch's(OC) play calling must be able to capitalize on our improvements. Didn't see it in camp. Hopefully he's been holding out the good stuff for game time.

Special teams may be a key improvement. A lot of returning success stories and I know they worked really hard on ST drills in the offseason. Expecting great things here.

Only thing I can say relative to this contest. You guys better bring your A-Game to Tampa. We are prone to excel in OOC big time matchups.

May the best team win.

Nice to see an FSU fan posting here.

I expect a very physical low scoring game.

This may be the toughest game for FSU in the regular season.

Going to be a great game. One of my best friends is coming down for Tally so we will be at war for like three hours. Then back to being friends haha

haha I do have extra tickets (I bought the $75 season ticket package, which btw is an AMAZING deal you guys have, best I've seen anywhere) but I'm donating the rest of mine to charity. I know a ton of FSU fans who bought them. I look forward to great conversation with you guys. Also come over Tomahawknation.com, which is a great free FSU SB Nation site that has info on the Noles' and is really unbiased. Check there when game time gets closer as you'll see a bunch of coverage on the Bulls from a FSU perspective.

Most of us, I'm fairly certain, realize that FSU is a serious contender this year for the national title.

To do that, you will have to get by USF and that won't be an easy feat.

We are coming off a very disappointing season where we lost numerous games late in the 4th quarter. As a result, that left a very poor taste in our mouths and have worked extremely hard ever since to not let that ever happen again.

I doubt whether most FSU fans have any idea as to the battle you will be facing from USF.

Honestly, I would assume the atmosphere will be something similar to UF-FSU game. It's clearly the biggest game in our history at home and our fans will be out in force (especially if we're sitting at 4-0). In reality, expect a good portion of students to be downright nasty after they get drunk. Our alum though will be a little more approachable. Just giving you an honest answer. For the most part, it will be a great time... however I expect to see some negative reports about our crowd (especially when we send you back nicely to Tally with your first loss on the season).

No way to know that it is "clearly the biggest game in our history at home" until the game is here. We play Rutgers on a Thursday night before the FSU game. Nevada and Ball State we will be favored against but we have to take care of business. Also, FSU plays Clemson a week before they play USF, so they might lose before we play them.

There's also this game we had a home in 2007 against a little team called WVU that I would call our biggest home game as far as national significance.
