We have some new guys who WILL give both of them a run for their money when it comes to dunking. Neither is a lock to win the dunk contest. And that's what's going to make it so great. Plus I heard somewhere that Noriega has some ups as well. Don't forget about Hawkins. Wasn't he in a national high school dunk contest?

In fact he just returned from another dunk contest held on August 11. Javontae Hawkins Incoming University of South Florida men’s basketball recruit Javontae Hawkins, a 6-foot-5 guard from Huntington (W.Va.) Prep, will participate in Friday’s American Family Insurance High School Slam dunk Championship, held in conjunction with the Final Four at New Orleans. The contest will be shown Sunday afternoon at 4:30 on CBS (and it will have several encore presentations on the CBS College Sports Network). Zach LeDay may also have something to say. Nobody in the BE can actual guard him, he gets where he wants to on the court and can be very intimidating to the opposing teams with his length and athletic ability. The question with him is consistency offensive awareness. He'll be a NBA lottery pick if he finds his groove this season and USF would be a serious contender to make the Sweet 16 because of it. As for the Dunk contest you have the whole team except for Omogbehin and Fitzpatrick will be participating. Collins if healthy shouldn't be counted out because the little guy are always fan favorites. He does have surprising hops when he wants to. On the flip side, the one player I am most anxious to see dunk is Waverly Austin. He is pretty athletic for a big man and should be able to get well above the basket. If the Big East elected not to play the season and instead just had a dunk contest, we would be a serious contender for the title.

(He is no Collins though) I to look forward to Austin's dunking if he still has his leaping ability after the weight gain. You know it's 1 of dunk that every tall man has. It's the 2 balls Dunk(Larry Nance, Dwight Howard, Javale McGree, etc) Here's McGree's version that I liked!!
