I hate hearing stuff like that, it breaks my heart all these young people dying. It makes you realize though that family is the most important thing, all the other stuff doesn't really mean much.

I work downtown, we had gone so long without a Fallen Heroes Honor Procession then we had 2 in 2 days. I don't care how you feel politically, you should always support the men and women of our Armed Forces. Without them we could have no debates.

I'm not making the connection very easily. Is this on this board because he's related to a USF player?

Skip Holtz â€@CoachHoltzUSF

Thoughts and prayers with Johnny Sitton and his family. His bro was killed in Afghanistan.

Absolutely awful news. Thoughts and prayers for the Sitton Family indeed

it get's worse

Twice in one year, a soldier's death rocks small school in Indian Rocks Beach

They played on the same high school baseball team.

They ran with the same friends, graduated with the same class.

And they followed each other into battle.

The family of Staff Sgt. Matthew Steven Sitton, 26, learned Thursday that the Indian Rocks Christian School graduate died this week after stepping on an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan, just a month away from returning home.

His death comes a year after friend and fellow graduate, Spc. Frank Gross, 25, died in similar fashion. He was 21 days into his first deployment.

The news was another tragedy for the school, with an enrollment of about 700, and its extended family of students, faculty and friends.

It tears me up that we're still over in these countries. America has enough problems of their own without trying to police the world. Another senseless death. I truly hope he is in a better place. But never will a day go by where his loss can be made up to his immediate family. My prayers are with them through this terrible time.
