I love this kid. Off the radar. 2-stars from Scout and Rivals(which prolly means they haven't looked at him), 247 doesn't even have him up. He is big, but quick and fast (6'4" 215#, prolly play at 240#). A ball hawk too. We better get on him quick , he is getting ready to visit BSU and has a full profile on a Ducks website.Coaches liked him enough at SB that they offered him on the spot, would also pry the door open a little at Plant, which we sorely need. He is a wrecking crew in FL's highest classification and we need LB prospects.

Local linebacker: USF 'sticking out a lot'

Phil Neary

Mitchell Wright headed into SuperBull camp with high expectations, but picking up a Bulls offer wasn't on his mind. However, when the Plant High linebacker used his speed to impress the USF coaching staff, he quickly jumped to forefront of Bulls the linebacker board.

Plant DL Mitchell Wright offered by Boston College

Wed. May 30, 2012 | Laura Keeley | Email

Plant DL Mitchell Wright picked up his first BCS offer Wednesday night, courtesy of Boston College, Plant coach Robert Weiner said. Weiner is rather familiar with the Chestnut Hill, Mass., school as its his alma mater.

The 6-foot-4, 210-pound Wright recorded 73 total tackles (6.1 per game) for the Class 8A state champion Panthers (14-1). Wright also notched 10 sacks, three caused fumbles and one interception. His best game came in the state title game, as he recorded 14 total tackles and five sacks, both season highs, and caused a fumble as Plant beat previously undefeated Miramar 31-20.

Wright also holds an offer from UMass

150 Recruiting Prospects to Watch

Sunday, February 26th, 2012

The Landscape of College Football recruiting is forever changing, with seemingly each year, recruits are dissected earlier and earlier. Many focus on the 4 and 5 star prospects across the nation, but we try to focus on getting under recruited guys on the map. After extensive analyzing and searching, I have collected a 2013 Recruiting Prospects under the radar watch list, in no particular order. These individuals come from unique, common, or legendary backgrounds, some being highly touted but not many D1 offers, and others simply are developing their skills, or just not being seen.

DE-Mitchell Wright-6’4â€,215lbs(Plant) Tampa,FL- Aggressive and displays range, won a state title as a junior, recorded 73 tcks,29 TFL’s, 10 sacks last year. Named the “Best overall lineman†at the Heath Evans Tournament lineman challenge.

I can only think of one: Donte Spires.

I like his motor and quickness behind the line of scrimmage but know he will end up as an OLB and wonder if he has the speed to keep up w/ the upper tier athletes. It seemed to me like he was just running around the OL instead of engaging with them and when he did he would draw a stalemate and wait for the back to come to him. At the next level he'll have to be able to shed off those blocks and if he is tackling someone from behind that will not be a good thing playing LB.

Just like any other prospect you never know but he does have the frame, size and nose/motor for the ball to be effective. Depending on his character he could be a great p/u after a couple yrs b/c he def. will have to put the time in switching to a much more complex position from a physical and mental standpoint. Another thing I am a big proponent for is stats players put up against the higher classes and think its undervalued by recuiters and he has the numbers that's for sure. I wouldn't question the coaching staff if they pulled the trigger on him but it seems like they might have some other avenues they can explore before they give him a full commitment.

Breit is not yet on scholarship. Mike Walsh, long-snapper last three years and a Plant grad, was on scholarship at end of his USF career.
